I left a foot of the pad exposed all the way round the pool and it works great to keep grass and weeds from growing around the pool edges. I covered the overlap with rubber mulch and bordered it with paving stones. Looks great! Review: nice, had to toss after the season

It's just felt and its really thin about a 10 mils in thickness but it made the liner go on so much easier and helps with getting wrinkles out of the liner.
