Great value and it really works.
Yes I wish Calcium D-Glucarate was cheaper, don't we all? But the question is, how is this Source Naturals Calcium D-Glucarate versus others and most importantly does it work?Well, do your own research, but I have compared everything on the market when it comes to Calcium D-Glucarate, and I've found this one from Source Naturals to be the best bang for the buck.Keep in mind that to get the therapeutic effect you need to take a total of 6 tablets per day. The instructions on the bottle recommend 2 tablets in the morning, 2 in the afternoon, and 2 in the evening, basically with each meal.I've done plenty of experimenting on my own with dosages and timing, and for my own purposes (estrogen reduction and leaning up) 3 tablets in the morning and then 3 in the evening with meals has provided the best results for me. I am a male in to physical fitness so keeping estrogens levels down helps a lot.Since there seem to be so many people out there that are confused about dosages and such, let me just clear up for everyone that each tablet is 500 milligrams. Most studies have shown that to get the best results you need to take 1000 milligrams at a time and that the effects will last for about 4 hours. So that is the reason why it's recommended to take 2 tablets 3 times daily. Why don't they just make a 1000 milligram tablet? Because Calcium is a very bulky mineral. You can only reduce it so much. In order to make a 1000 milligram tablet it would have to be big enough to choke most anyone trying to swallow it! Thus 500 milligram is about as high as they can go and still keep the tablet a reasonable size. That being said, keep in mind that even at 500 milligrams the tablet is on the larger size.Bottom line? The Source Naturals Calcium D-Glucarate works great, and offers the best bang for the buck for dosage versus cost.I would definitely recommend it!

A great defense against extra estrogen - helped with leg cramps
I just reordered my second bottle of these (and have signed up for the subscription). From my research, I see that these (besides other good things) help deactivate the aromatase enzyme, which is one of the trouble-makers in estrogen process. I feel that they're doing good things for me.Whether genetically, from the food choices we make, from environmental xenoestrogens, pharmaceuticals or stress, I think all Americans, women as well as men, are being exposed to much higher levels of estrogen than what is normal, and it's disrupting our systems in bad ways. Check out Ray Peat's excellent website for more info on the estrogen / serotonin / cortisol connections. The book Mastering Leptin by Byron J. Richards is also an excellent source of info about leptin / weight issues / insulin / estrogen. All these things have to be in a delicate balance to maintain good health.Because these tablets are chewable, I find it much easier to take them on a consistent basis, and can carry some around in my purse so that I can take the recommended 6/day and not worry about having to find a glass of water for pill swallowing. Now, they're not *tasty* by any stretch, and I'm OK with that because I don't want a ton of sugar / sweetners, but the taste is an OK chalky-ness. Another reviewer said they spiked her blood sugar, but I haven't had any issues with that. They really are not very sweet (tasting) at all to me. According to the directions, you should be taking them with food anyway.I suffer from occasional leg cramps at night. Got up with a case last week (because I had too much sugar too close to bed, I think), crunched up two of these tablets, and it was like almost instant relief. That was impressive. Previously I had been relying on a homeopathic remedy with quinine, and it works, but takes awhile to kick in (which is tough when your leg is still in cramping and you just want to go back to sleep).

Holy PMS Relief!!!
***Update*** I'm not sure why but I stopped taking this for a couple of years and forgot about it. Enter PMS and cramps from hell...as well as a lingering depression and bloat that I could not shake. I've been back on the supplement for almost three months and all of these issues are GONE. I consulted with my Integrative Physician about it today to be sure there were no concerns and she called it a "very innocuous supplement" and said I should continue since I am getting such great results.I've struggled with debilitating PMS since my teens, mostly affecting my mood. Most months I would get so low that I couldn't leave the house or get dressed for at least 1-2 days. I am estrogen dominant (tested by a doc) and hypothyroid. I've tried everything out there, including: dietary changes, exercise, Chinese herbs, anti-depressants, acupuncture, progesterone creams and many other supplements with little to no relief. My thyroid tests are now normal but I was still struggling with this.I started taking this supplement to help bring down the estrogen and prayed that something would finally work. The first few days were awful - I had a terrible migraine, body aches, and I was very nauseous. I assume this was a detox effect brought on by the supplement, since nothing else was different. I recommend starting slowly and ramping up your dose. When I backed off the dose, the bad side effects went away.I'm now 2 months in (still only taking 1000 mg/day) and my "time" actually snuck up on me. I had no idea until I looked at the calendar! I was downright chipper all the way through the month! It is such a relief not having to plan my life around my calendar and that previously awful week!BTW, this was recommended in the book The Hormone Diet by Dr. Natasha Turner. I highly recommend it for anyone (man or woman) struggling with imbalances.
