Hmmm
The adapter works for my unique application.

Nice option to recycle an old cord.
Worked perfect for my Dell docking station and saved me from having to buy a new power cord. Definitely saved some money and saved some e-waste by using an old cord.

Good when it works
Ordered a two pack, but only one worked correctly. I contacted the seller and they promptly sent a replacement two pack; again only one worked. So I did end up with two working cables, just a took a little longer than planned. Note that the non-working cables will power the laptop as an "unknown" wattage adapter. It appears that the serial link between adapter and computer is not working. This is the same thing that happened to my OEM dell adapter cable after a few years and why I needed a replacement. See the attached images -- you can get to this screen by pressing F2 when powering up the computer.

Jank But Works
Does it work? Yes. Does it look jank? Also yes. XPS 15 9570 and 7590 (they're the same, but 1 has a GPU and the other doesn't) both detect the 130W brick for a typical Dell WD dock and the 65W barrel charger, in bios. In Windows, it does detect and give the warning for the 65W charger being too low of a charger.

Money Saver! Great quality! Recycling!
Use an older, but reliable, Dell power adapter for your new model! I did not want to spend $50 on an extra power cord from Dell or play roulette with Amazon when I have several good dell power cords, which have more amps than I need so the brick stay cool. One to use and one for on the go! 10 out of 10 will buy again

These also work for HP and probably other brands.
tl:dr - a handy adapter to have on your workbench and/or reuse older power bricks. This is one of those simple ideas that work out great =D These are super awesome if you do laptop repairs and you just want one "big" power brick (say from one of the older Dell docks) on your repair bench, and if you got a laptop requiring the smaller barrel plug you just keep this adapter handy. Also while many recentish laptops (say after 2018) do also accept USB-C charging, they often also still have a "legacy" small barrel charger plug, and you can use that while working on a machine to free up a USB-C port if you don't have a dock/hub that has power pass-through OR often won't negotiate to full charging wattage.

Works great when it works- 2 weeks on average
Had a bunch of OEM Dell charging cables for my prior laptops and this was the ideal solution to use those. I bought these with great enthusiasm, and in the beginning all was great, the cables worked as advertised. UNFORTUNATELY this lasted only a few weeks to days. I would get the dreaded 'your charger is not supported message' and know the dongle had failed. I wondered if this was just a bad lot- I just clicked return for my 6th cable- you need to be careful as the return window is only a month. My advice would be if you want to gamble on these go for it but then use it as your main power cable and return immediately when you get the message, but don't try too often. I ended up purchasing the one from Dell ($9) on Amazon and has been working so far.
