Perfect install on Chevrolet Bolt EUV with Garmin Mini 2 Dashcam
Very elegant solution for adding a dashcam without having to run and hide long wires. On my Chevy Bolt EUV I just plugged the red prong into the slot with the existing purple wire. And the black prong with the existing black wire. Worked best to plug in the prong above the existing wire.I also bought a right-angle USB extension cord to go along with this so that I'd have a little extra room to work with and a nice right-angle fit on the USB from the camera.

Works great on a mustang and jeep
I've installed this on two vehicles and it's super easy, literally only takes 10 seconds once you figure out which wires to tap into. I love this adapter because you can install a small dashcam like the Garmin Mini hidden behind the mirror with no wires. Of course there does have to be a source of power near the mirror, but it seems pretty common on newer vehicles.

Good adapter
Worked great as a mirror power tap for my WK2 Grand Cherokee Summit to power my Garmin dash cam. First unit had a broken prong, but it was quicky replaced with a working model.

It worked, but the wrong type of usb connector was recieved.
This product was perfectly what I needed to clean up the setup for my COOAU D30 dual dash cam unit in a 2007 Chevy HHR for using the auto dimming rear view mirror connection. Saldy the unit I received was the wrong connection type for the usb interface. I purchased the unit labeled on Amazon as MicroUSB, however what came in the mail was MiniUSB which was unusable for my application. I did however test it on an old phone with a MiniUSB port and power worked fine. Would have easily been 5 stars if I had not been sent the incorrect unit. Amazon was quick with the refund and return and am now waiting for attempt 2 to receive the properly listed item. 1 Star as of 8/13/2020, will update review upon receiving the new unit.Edit: After returning my initial unit I re-ordered another unit, the second order contained a perfectly working unit that also had the correct micro-usb connector. Review changed from 1 to 4 stars, would have been five if not for the initial error of sending a unit with the wrong sized connector. 8/22/2020

Good Solution
Worked to hook a dashcam up to a car with an auto dimming mirror. Pins have held in place with friction for a few months now.

Couldn't get it to work with Garmin Mini
Originally chose this over the official Garmin hardwire kit because it's a nice short cable and I was tapping my rearview mirror for power. When I got it, it would not work. I probed the wires, double checked and triple checked, but it just would not supply power. I thought maybe it was just the Garmin being fickle so I plugged in random old phones amd whatnot, no power whatsoever.Today I installed the official Garmin hardwire kit, tapping the EXACT SAME wires and it works perfectly. Maybe I got a defective unit, which overall wouldn't surprise me as the device itself looks pretty haphazardly put together. At only $5 cheaper, just buy the Garmin kit and be done with it.

Nice product and very useful
This works perfect for mirror tap for cam .ince u figure out what wires goes where, it's a simplw. Install. Have been using it for A few months with no issies. In surprised no1 is selling the cable that allows u to power 2 devices, say a cam and radar detector. The mirror tap is great and convenient but only has enough room for 1 gadget to be hooked up, they need to start selling the other cable for 2 hooks to mirror .

Broken in less than a year
It worked great for my dashcam for less than a year. It is simply a tiny buck converter that converts the car's 12V to the 5V needed by USB. I was able to plug it into the mirror's power plug and it was very nice and tidy. Now it overheats and does not power anything anymore. The main chip on it looks fried and it only outputs 2V now, so in the trash it goes. I will probably scavenge the wires and use another (better) buck converter I have laying around.
