API POND ALGAEFIX Algae Control 16-Ounce Bottle (169B)

Bought this to keep the algae in my pond under control. Works great! Makes taking care of my fish pond much easier and won’t hurt the fish!

Filtration and aeration is KEY! I’ve read many reviews over the concern of fish dying but people aren’t reading the instructions properly. This product requires rigorous aeration (24 Hours a day) you also need a good filtration system to remove the algae so the product can do its job. Figure out the correct dosage and treat every 3 days (I waited every 4 days) I was sure to brush my liner to stir all of the algae. the pictures are over the span of 2 weeks! Hope this helps.

It seems to working keeping my water clogged.

The media could not be loaded. I have a small backyard plastic pond where the recirculating water falls into a small concrete bird bath which overflows back into the pond water. In hot sunny weather the water turned green and developed floating patches of algae before I started using this product on a weekly basis in June. Now the water stays relatively clear, as seen in the video, and the residue from the algae is confined to the rocks and filter screen at the bottom. Birds frequently splash around in the small birdbath so it is a bird friendly product. I maintain a natural looking area around the pond so I don't bother trying to clean the residue off the bottom of the pond until I pull out the pump and filter in the late fall. I don't have fish in it so I can't comment on oxygen levels in the water. I will mention that the directions emphasize the need to maintain good water circulation so the pump runs continuously. Five stars because it works very well in my little pond.

My pond was a grimy mess. So dirty looking, green, slimy.. I’ve tried other products in the past which were very disappointing. After 2 treatments-my pond is crystal clear.. Very pleased

I love this product! The algae in our ponds was out of control but this product worked wonders on it. The ponds are now nice and clear and I only need to add the Algaefix once a week. We didn't lose any fish, they didn't seem to be affected by it at all, but we have fountains and air stones in all three of our ponds. I highly recommend this Algaefix, just make sure you have good aeration in your pond or ponds. The only complaint I have is that it was hard on the hornwort, killing and damaging a lot of it but I'm guessing that's because it was covered in algae. I removed most of it because it didn't look nice but hornwort grows fast so it'll recover. It didn't harm any other water plants.

My pond is 16x25 ft....more or less 8 to 10000 gallons. I put about 2 cups in on one end and 2 on the other. Three days later I hit it again. I have two waterfalls on each end that I kept running for at least 24 hours. MAKE SURE YOU AREATE! A week later my pond is now crystal clear. This stuff works but be careful. I overdosed 3 years ago and it killed all my fish but that was my fault.
