Convenient, Versatile, Easy To Use and Clean
Although this is labeled as a rice cooker and works fabulously as such (1.5 cups of rice makes enough for 3), I've also used it like a mini crockpot and cooked full meals for two. For example:- Buy a sushi making kit and together, you have an easy, affordable Family Sushi Night.- Add pre-cooked chicken to a cup of rice, add onion, garlic, and chicken bouillon to taste, and you have a quick chicken and rice dinner.- Make a small batch of bone broth by starting in cook mode and letting it stay in warm mode 12-24 hours (overnight to a day). Just make sure to check the water level and scoop off fat/foam as needed. This gadget is great for anyone who struggles with ADD, someone who is so busy they sometimes forget they need to cook or are cooking, parents who want to teach kids self-sufficiency, college students who want to make healthier food, older or injured individuals with limited mobility, and anyone who just wants good, fresh food without a lot of effort. It's so easy to use: there's only one button and once the food is done, it automatically switches to warm mode. There is no open flame so there's a lot less chance of disaster. You can also make soups, spaghetti, ramen, rehydrate dehydrated meals, and more at home and on the go using a portable power station in this little 200 watt rice cooker.

Great for college
I bought this for my sister to take to college. I received one my first year and I use it all the time. It makes the perfect amount of rice for one person in about 20 min. It’s easy to use with fill lines inside the bowl and it comes with a measuring cup for the rice. Once you add everything all you have to do is push down on the switch and it’ll keep it warm until you’re ready to eat. Afterwards it’s super easy to wash you just pop out the bowl and wash it in the sink. You can also make soups and stews in it. It’s great value for the price and perfect for college meals when you might not have the time to cook or access to a stove. It also cooks very evenly and the rice is never undercooked.

Good Cooker, but Too Small for My Needs
I recently purchased the DASH Mini Rice Cooker Steamer and overall, it works great for small meals. The removable nonstick pot is easy to clean, and the Keep Warm function is really convenient. It heats up quickly and does a great job cooking grains, oatmeal, and even small soups and stews.Pros:✔️ Compact & Easy to Store – Perfect for small kitchens or apartments.✔️ Simple to Use – The one-button operation makes it easy for anyone to use.✔️ Quick Cooking – Heats up fast and does a great job with grains and small meals.✔️ Nonstick Pot – Makes cleaning a breeze!✔️ Affordable – A great budget-friendly option for cooking small portions.Cons:➖ Too Small for Larger Meals – While it's great for 1-2 servings, it's too small if you’re cooking for more than that. It only makes about 2 servings, so I find it doesn't meet my needs when I need to cook for more people.➖ Limited Features – While it does its job well for smaller portions, it's not as versatile as larger rice cookers for bigger meals.Final Thoughts:This is a perfect mini cooker for individuals or small households, but it might not be the best option if you need to cook for more than two people. It's great for quick, small meals, and if you're looking for a compact option, this is a solid choice! Would be perfect for someone living alone or as a secondary cooker for small meals.

Mini cooker single person sized
Dorm essential; a small rice cooker. This is VERY small however. If you have only one person, it's suitable but if you are dealing with two or more, a 5 cup minimum would be better. The size of this unit is compact enough to toss into a suitcase or store in small quarters. This is a simple rice cooker with a press-down button for turning it on, a keep-warm function and an automatic shutoff. It works by thermostat; as the temperature rises when the water has boiled off and been absorbed by the food, the temperature spike makes the spring contact drop back, and the heat shuts off. No "fuzzy logic" here. Simple operation.Because the unit is small, cooking things like porridge will mean it possibly boils over. I had to put a kitchen towel under it to cook one serving of steel cut oats (they foam up) and it was a bit messy on the lid. The instructions do warm about boiling over. If you're using this, I'd put a towel under it as a matter of course.Cooking:I did regular Japanese short grain rice, steel cut oats, mixed grain porridge and a "Dutch Baby" pancake. The recipe for the pancake is included in the booklet, which has a number of recipes. All of them came out ok; the rice was slightly more wet and less cooked thoroughly than in my regular, large fancy rice cooker but it was fine to eat. The porridge boiled over (as I mentioned) and the Dutch Baby was really good. It's a large recipe requiring several batches to be poured in and cooked for two cycles. I'd halve the recipe next time, but it was a nice little breakfast made with milk, egg, flour and sugar, with a dab of jam or some fresh fruit, powdered sugar or syrup for extrasThe unit comes with a booklet including recipes (useful), a paddle for scooping the rice, and a measuring cup. My cup was cracked (thin plastic) but I already had a standard measuring cup for rice. This cup was a bit on the thin side and didn't survive the packaging.Dash doesn't make a mid sized (6 cup) rice cooker, only a family sized large one, so if you have need of more food than single servings, I'd get a different brand model that can do 5-6 cups of rice, which will feed two or three easily. But for dorm cooking, single person, tiny kitchen or traveling and cooking say, because you need to be gluten-free while traveling, this is perfect and very compact.
