A Matter of Interpretation: Federal Courts and the Law - New Edition (The University Center for Human Values Series) Paperback – January 30, 2018

I had to read this book for a political science class I am taking college. Overall, I’m not a huge fan of reading and haven’t read many books for pleasure although this may start a trend. Political theory books are often very interesting to me overall and with a main contributor followed by comments is definitely a style I can get behind.

The best conservative judge ever!

I used this book to expand my knowledge of originalism as I am preparing to lead a class discussion on the subject. The book provide an excellent discussion of originalism including fundamental pros and cons provided by leading lawyers and historians.

I read this book to gain a better understanding of Scalia’s judicial philosophy. The method of presentation is effective, a debate of sorts. Given my minimal training in the law it helped to read scholarly essays from differing points of view. Still, the justice always had the last word. He failed to persuade me, but the read was well worth the effort.

The content of the book is great, however the binding of the physical book is very poor. I’m only at page 39 and already 5 pages have fallen out.

A thoughtful piece worth the time and energy.

Obra fundamental para estudiosos do Direito Constitucional, sobretudo em tempos de ativismo judicial. Uma bela defesa da importância da preservação do sentido original do pacto constitucional sem, entretanto, ignorar as necessárias mutações constitucionais, sempre dentro da máxima auto-contenção.
