Great value and great ball (for most people) at any price
The Wilson Staff 50 Elite does what any non-great golfer wants it to do: it flies far if you don't have a super-fast swing speed, and it has low spin which tends to make it go straight. It also has a softer than average feel, and it's great for chipping and putting. For any amateur golfer who is anywhere from slightly above average to horrible, look no further than this ball. I would honestly prefer to play this ball than any other ball at any price, including the vaunted Titleist ProV1 (which is 4x the price of these). How it works is that if you have an average to low swing speed, due to the compression this ball will fly farther than most. But conversely, if you have a very fast (pro type) swing speed, the ball will fly a little less than the balls pros prefer. What's also great about this ball is that it's cheap, roughly $1/ball. So if you aren't very good and lose a lot of balls in a round, it hurts less financially when you lose one. Plus the ball is available in orange, my preferred ball color. Orange balls are much easier to see in the sky on an overcast day than a white ball. And since very few people play orange balls, you are less likely to confuse your ball on the ground with someone else's ball. This ball should really be rated a full 5 stars by everyone who chooses to play it. If you are a near-pro golfer, you already know that you want a ball with less compression and more spin, to match your fast swing speed and ability to "work" (deliberately curve) the ball. But if you are anything less than a great golfer, buy this ball. Most of the negative customer reviews here are ridiculous. Check out the current one star reviews. One says the balls feel like rocks, another says they feel like marshmallows - obviously these are in between those two extremes. Then some say that the wrong product was sent or they got the wrong color from their seller. That is not a review of THIS product, and is no reason for one star. And there are some 3 star ratings that claim the ball "wears out" after a full round (18 holes) or two. Look, if you can play an entire round without losing a ball, retire that ball. Considering the costs of playing golf, why be cheap and play a $1 ball for more than one round? Serious tennis players do not keep playing the same balls match after match, and there's no reason anyone should play a $1 golf ball for more than one round. Frankly I'd love to finish a round with the same ball from the first tee, something I've never done.

Shockingly suprised
I started to buy these balls a few times in the past and always would hit save for later. Last week I said what the heck, at best I'm out 15 bucks right. So to make a long story short I teed one up on my Tuesday night league and right off the club I noticed a soft send off, and on my second shot onto the green I saw a good amount of spin which totally surprised me. I played that same ball all 9 holes and due to a couple miss putts a 38 was added to my score card. I am truly amazed with this ball and it's durability that I will definitely buy more especially at this price. I have always used titleist balls but I have to say this is going to be my new go to for now on. I gained distance and added more control and spin with this ball. Wilson has always been under the golf radar as far as paying a lot for advertising goes which allows them to offer much lower cost on their products. I have to say this ball beats Titleist balls hands down. And saves me more money for the 19th hole. If you haven't done so yet please buy a dozen of these 50 Elites and see for yourself the difference this ball will make for you as well. Oh the putting was such a difference also with a soft feel off the putter face. Thanks Wison for such a super deal at a ridiculous price. "Hit em straight and long friends.

Quality ball for mid to high handicappers that few know about
I shoot at best in the 90s on most 18 hole courses. My handicap is my brain. I was introduced to this ball by someone at a PGA Tour Superstore and learned of its 50 compression. I only played it twice at this point and thus cannot now give a complete review or give it more than four stars except for its value. I liked its distance on my good drives but cannot prove it goes any further for me than what I think are its competitors - the Srixon Soft Feel, Titleist TrueFeel or the Callaway Super Soft (which I think has a 40 compression). I learned by contacting the Wilson Staff folks that this ball is an earlier manufactured version of Wilson's current Fifty Elite ball (in a differently designed box). But I was also informed that this ball has the same specs and and design - but different printing - as the current Fifty Elite ball. I will try this ball out more next golf season in the Northeast.

Play with a new ball for a good price
I used to play with a mix of balls that I found on the course and a little voice in my head said that if I played with the same ball I would get used to a consistent feel and therefore get a lower score. I played my first 18 holes with 3 of these and my score is basically the same. However, I do like the feel and hit off the driver, yes they sound and feel wonderful off the T. Many of the drive shots flew straight which I attribute to the reduced spin affect these balls have!amazing. I believe they flew as far as any other ball I've found on the course as well. I even hit a few other balls I found on holes to compare the flight and found this 50 to fly farther (titleist and wilson 500). When you look at the dimple pattern on this ball you will notice it is different from the typical and I think for a high handicaper this design will help improve your game, not to mention paying for balls will give you an increased incentive to keep the balls in play. Each time I lost one I cried a little inside but not too much because they only cost $1 per ball. I also like the bright colors this ball comes in, so much easier to find a yellow ball. I will be purchasing another dozen when I get down to the last sleve of these.
