Good little speakers
tl;dr: I'm happy with the sound and the build quality, as well as the ease of use. I'll keep them, assuming they don't auto-bork within the warranty period. _________ I've had these speakers for a couple of days (bought two to use either in dual or stereo setup). They are smaller than typical inexpensive square plastic computer speakers and weigh quite a bit more. They also sound better, unless your PC speakers cost more than $30 and include a sub-woofer. They are easy to connect via Bluetooth on both PC and Mac. I haven't tried them on Linux or a phone. The stereo connection function is easy as well. The included instruction booklet is clear and concise. I haven't tried the Dual function yet. I haven't tried them farther than 10 feet (approx. three meters) apart from the sound source or from each other. Things like walls and the transmitting power of the Bluetooth circuit in the audio device are going to have an impact on range and performance. The volume control is + or - 16 steps, and the little red power light on the control end of the speaker will blink once when you reach either 0% or 100%. TIP: Turn the speaker on and, before you connect it to an audio source or device, reduce the volume to 0% then press "+" eight times to take the volume to around 50%. You may also want to adjust the audio volume on your device to a lower level until you get a feel for the speaker. My guess is that there is quite a bit of audio processing and active EQ going on inside the speakers, and it favors and boosts bass frequencies. If you have EQ presets on your audio device, then hopefully there will be a few that roll-off or attenuate the bass. They'll have names like Spoken Word, Bass Reduce, Treble Boost, etc. For my purposes, these are "micro field" speakers that I'll use to listen to music or news while sitting at a laptop. I also tried them out as speakers for an audio device on a bookshelf. They work just fine for background music and podcasts, and fill the room. Obviously the won't move as much air as good quality bookshelf speakers but the sound is clear and pleasant. If I were going to crank up the volume I'd decrease the bass EQ on the music player first. The slightly raised control buttons are easy enough to memorize - a good thing given that they are the same matte black rubber as the rest of that end of the speaker. I suppose I would use little stickers or a white-on-black tape in label maker if I wasn't going to be handling them often. The speakers power off after a little while (haven't timed it yet) if there is no source audio, so using them to have a louder phone alarm in the morning probably work out.

Oontz speakers will surprise you with their quality for the price
This is my 3rd Oontz speaker (and I have given a couple as gifts) and this one is kind of adorable. It’s really tiny, and I wanted it to be small to easily be carried in my beach bag. The charge seems to last a long time as it does with my other Oontz speakers. They seem to use quality parts because even the oldest, most beat up, used (and abused) one still functions perfectly. I’ve never had an issue pairing with any of my devices. Definitely recommend if you want a durable, reliable, convenient speaker. It’s not the top tier in sound but it’s definitely respectable (and amazing for its price, with a decent low end and a relatively fat sound for the size).

Great speaker for an affordable price
I have purchased a total of 4 of the Oontz speakers. I have one of the Angle 3 models permanently paired with my Echo device in a bedroom. My second one was an Angle 3 with the older style USB cables. I gave that one away after about 3 years using it to get one with USB C charging cable. I gave that one to a friend and they are using it every day for podcasts. I bought a new Angle 3 for myself for use with my phone. I use it all around the house. I garden with it and when friends are visiting on the patio, it comes with us. I’m really happy with my little, mobile speakers. The charge they hold is great. The sound is really pretty good, especially for a little speaker. And I just bought the little Solo for use as a computer speaker. All four of mine have been reliable and consistant in playing. I did buy a new micro USB cord that was longer than the 3ft that came with the unit. It does not come with the plug-in but I have so many of those already, that I didn't care.

Good for personal listening, not for anything else
I was able to keep up with the OontZ Solo speaker for an hour - my experience was underwhelming. This speaker works well for tabletop use, smaller areas like bathrooms or kitchens, and scenarios where your need for portable audio is 'small' size. It does get loud, but not in a particularly pleasant way. Design and Portability: Credit where its due, the speaker is compact and easy to carry around, has thoughtfully put non-slip rubber feet, can stand on its side, has four holes punched in the body to put a lanyard through and hook it on a bag or carry in hand - very nice! All answers are right answers with that many options. Sound Quality: The bass is decent for a speaker this size. There’s (supposedly) a dedicated driver for the lows located opposite the control buttons, pushing out air that you can feel through the side vents. However, it lacks the depth and impact I expected. You'll hear a clear beat, but you won't feel the thump. The sound is good for what it is—a small, budget-friendly speaker—but don’t expect booming bass, that's just not what is possible at this size. Of course there are bigger, similarly priced speakers that have much worse bass than this, so kudos to the makers for being able to take out the most out of this size. Also, it says "dual speaker" at the bottom, but I could see only one behind the mesh - check in the pictures. The "dual speaker" is perhaps to acknowledge that you can pair two of these speaker together for a true stereo sound. Seems like a sus move. So, the 'Solo' speaker is a mono unit after all. Connectivity: Charging via micro-USB is a bit outdated, and one of the reasons I'll be returning this, but it gets the job done. Appreciated is the inclusion of a 3.5mm port, which adds versatility by allowing for wired connections. It’s a simple but effective feature if you want to chain multiple speakers or connect to an audio source directly. Cons: The biggest drawback—it can get a bit harsh and 'tear' at high volumes. It’s a compact speaker, and while seems to have a dedicated bass driver, the experience is more like a reading the menu, than tasting the steamy dumpling - I know it's there, but why am I getting none of it. Also, the reliance on micro-USB in 2024 feels like a dated choice. USB-C, please. Conclusion: It is a rugged portable speaker for casual use, but its sound limitations mean it’s not for me personally. It’s a solid choice if you’re after a small, dependable speaker, but if you are looking for deeper bass and more than a personal audio solution, you might want to explore other options.

Powerfull bass, clear mids and highs, better than sonys and jvc 40 dollar range speakers, good quality for the price, designed in usa.

It works really well, good sound, easy connectivity, US design, alas made in China, big, big sigh.

La bocina es pequeña, muy portátil, su carga es rápida y la batería de larga duración. La calidad del sonido es excelente y su conectividad es instantánea, volvería a comprarlo.
