CURT 56093 Vehicle-Side Custom 4-Pin Trailer Wiring Harness

As described, and I will be installing it very soon. I don't intend to haul anything even close to heavy with the 2015 Lincoln MKS AWD 3.7L, but anything I DO tow will need to have lights. I like that it is powered, so trailer lights aren't relying off of system power - the Lincoln is all LED and non-LED bulbs would likely overload the system. Even LEDs may do the same. I don't know. But I won't take the chance. I appreciate that it's essentially plug and play - the only complication will be running the power line all the way to the battery. Not excited for that, but that has nothing to do with the product itself. Package being scuffed is not relevant to the purchase.

Installed on my 2020 Explorer Police Utility. Now my trailer lights work

For the most part, this kit was easy to install. Everything needed was included. The instructions were clear. My only issue was that our Explorer has the upgraded audio and the instructions don't give any information on how to access the taillight connection on the driver's side. I had to remove a few more panel clips and a couple of bolts to finally have the access required. Not difficult, just time consuming. All in all, this is a good kit that anyone with the tools should be able to install.

Took way longer to wire than any older vehicle. Suspension components take up most of undercarriage and they move when vehicle is in motion. Finding a safe path for + wire from the battery to the back of the vehicle is very difficult if you do not have the vehicle up on a lift. Access to the rear led tailights on a 2020 Ford Explorer is almost impossible with normal size arms and hands. Next vehicle I purchase MUST already have a trailer tow package installed with OEM trailer wiring installed. But to be honest, wiring harness does work once it is installed hence the 4 of 5 stars rating.

Very easy hook up. Matched my Explorer perfectly. I had a shop do it. Took them about 30 minutes.

Liked: Plug and play with the wire harness connectors. No splicing required. Box is small enough to mount between the body and trunk liner. High quality installation materials. Wiring for trailer is very long. Disliked: Having to run a dedicated power line from the battery to the control box. Not sure why the lights can't be powered from the harnesses. Double sided mounting tape is weak. Doesn't stick to the control box, needed to use different tape to hold.

Tried to return it but the window on return was closed and mechanic was on vacation. Useless and can’t use. Stop ordering on Amazon and get mechanic to install!!!

This was easy to install, you have to have basic skills in order to install and not too many tools are required. Work first time with no issues at all.
