Tempted (Eternal Guardians Book 3)

Unfortunately, neither does Demetrius. Or so it seems at first look. However, it took three books in this series to get his fires burning for Isadora, who has had the rug stolen out from under her twice now in all things love.On that note, here is where I reiterate the point I make in all of my reviews - I always strive to give spoiler-free reviews. However, given this book is part of a series, giving a spoiler-free review can be a bit tricky because you never know what books someone else has read. This isn't the kind of series you have to read from the beginning to be pulled in (Oh, man - but if you have been reading this from the beginning...what a ride, huh?). With that said, I can't rule out minor spoilers from the first two stories in this series, Marked and Entwined, if you haven't read them. With that said...Poor Isadora has been passed over twice for two of her...well, her other halves. You know, in the beginning I had no real feelings about it either way. Isadora really was sort of the weakling - which is sort of depressing for Argolea since she was supposed to be their next queen. At the end of the last book after having missed out again, Isadora goes missing (yes - again). So who decides to go after her but the man who all but can't stand her.But it turns out the well runs very deep indeed for these two unlikely mates. And I don't know about anyone else who's been following this series, but I think I had these two pegged from jump. It's elementary, really. Demetrius was way too antagonistic towards Isadora in the beginning for there not to have been something there. I really love how the author kind of flips the script on what we've come to accept about this genre in how the female is the one that usually plays hard to get. But, no - it was the other way around. Demetrius, the bad-ass of the Argonauts, was playing hard to get for most of the story even when Isadora already had him.Of course he did have his reasons and to that I guess his motives were pure. But I really am impressed with the way Isadora really stepped up to the plate in this one. She didn't ignore her feelings for him, nor did she back down from the opposition she was confronted with on more than one occasion from foes a lot stronger than her. The stakes are pretty high for her in the situation her and Demetrius are in, but even when Demetrius was willing to give in to the darkness lying dormant in him all this time, Isadora's confidence and growing devotion to him never wavered.Of the first three books in the series, this one was probably my favorite. It wasn't sugar coated like I felt the others were to a degree when the two Argonauts of the first two books found their soulmates. The conflict in this book was just a lot more grim and imposing and more than once I kept wondering how it all was going to turn out or if there could even be a true happily ever after.I still can't get over how well versed this series is! It is an impressive combination of greek mythology, erotica, and fantasy to boot. I've really never read anything like it. I can't wait to read the next book, Enraptured, because I have been interested in Orpheus' character since the beginning because of his dark origins - he is totally my type all the way.

If you answered "yes" to both questions, then The Eternal Guardian series is what you've been looking for.I think every book in the series can be read as a stand alone but reading the whole series will give you a look at a bigger scheme going on, i.e. a wicked game of the gods (who really cause nothing but trouble). Originally my favorite guardian was Theron. He is the leader of the Argonauts and everything a woman can dream of: handsome, with a strong sense of responsibility, honor and duty. And Casey was a perfect match for him. I loved their dialogues, and the scene where Theron stood up to the king himself to protect Casey from being sacrificed is one of my favorites (did i mention the hot sizzling love scenes :) )Now, Zander and Callia was an okay read for me, since I couldnt really get attached to both of them. Zander was way too depressive for me. Rumor has it he is the only immortal guardian among all of the others (turns out the rumors as usual are not true). Zander and Callia had a relationship in the past until something really bad happened and they broke up but now ten years later they finally found the way back to each other. Looks like the one and only soul mate curse is not a curse after all.And this bring me to the third installment "Tempted". Sigh...As I said originally Theron was my favorite guardian. Until i read "Tempted". Demetrius is really the biggest and baddest there is. He is huge, sulking, mean, taking-no-s***-from-anybody type of a guardian. You wanna be pushed around, insulted and feel miserable? Demetrius is your guy :) After reading the first two books I had mixed feeling about him. There was definitely something about him that made you think "why, are you doing this? what's reason and what's the point?". Now I know. Isadora is D's soul mate but he had to push her away in order to protect her even though all he wants is holding her in his arms until the end of time. Very very romantic. I loved how much both characters transformed from when we first meet them to finally being together. He saved her numerous times and she ultimately saved him. The only sad moment for me was realizing that Nick (D's half-brother) have to end up without a soul mate. Because apparently being twins with D means Isadora is also Nick's soul mate. However, I hope it's not true. Because Orpheus and Gryphon are also half-brothers and each of them would find their soul mates.Speaking about Orpheus, after reading "Enraptured" I was a bit disappointed at how O changed from being an unpredictable, all-can-do bad boy to a typical, mellow, very conscientious young man. But I guess that;s what love can do to a man :) I loved Skyla. Very strong (in all meanings) female character. Her coming back from the dead was a bit predictable but still.I'm now reading the fifth installment "Enslaved" and so far it's good. Will write a review once I finish. Im looking forward to "Bound" , a story of Titus and eventually hope to read about Nick.

This series goes from strength to strength, I am loving it. This time it's the wonderfully dark gladiator, Demetrius and the Argolean princess, Isadora. In previous books Demetrius spurns Isadora and, in fact, is downright nasty towards her, even refusing to be bound to her and in this book we get to know his secret and it's a shocker. This book kept me interested from the start and I just could not put it down, even whilst on the deserted island, where it tended to drag just a little, it still kept me intrigued. Demetrius is just so dark and moody and Isadora goes from a timid princess, who is constantly pushed around to a strong, believable ruler.I am loving this alternate world and cannot wait to start the next in the series.

I love these Guardian's - they are such well written hero's and you just know they would melt your panties! There is plenty of romance in the books but also a really good story that had me reading this in one sitting!The characters are well written, believable and easy to like and since it is a fantasy book then there is not problem believing the story lines!The first book in the series is free - this was well written enough that I bought book 2 then book 3 (this one) and book 4 etc. I plan on buying ALL the books in this series as I consider it well worth the money.

Just had to write a review for this book after finishing this one.The series is one of the best I have read in a long time. I had tears in my eyes at the end and my heart actually ached at the thought of them losing each other even though you know that's not gonna happen.The love scenes are hot and intense but the build up and the story surrounding each of the hero's is fantastic.The author is hitting the right note in every book of the series. In fact when I've finished this series I'm looking forward to reading everything else she has done!

I absolutely adore this series and love how the storyline keeps interlinking within each book. The characters are so different from each other yet they all have their place. The writing just takes you into their world and you can actually imagine the scenes described making you feel as though you are there. Somethimes there are the "oh wow" moments and I have yet to be rush through one of these books - I like to savour these stories!

I like this series because of the stong world building and use of Classical myth. Ther heroines also stand out to me as individuals (particularly the heroine of this novel) even when the heroes do not - or not quite to the same degree. If I was able to give this four and a half stars I would - this is now my second favourite series after the JR Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood - even though in many respects it is quite distinct.If you are a fan of paranormal romance/urban fantasy and like your heroines complex and interesting then this should appeal to you.
