Works great, but needs tightening!
I picked this filter because of reviews on other brands leaking at the plastic fittings. When this arrived, it leaked all over the place and my hubby was not happy! After much fiddling around on a 104 degree day, he realized that both insides were loose and had not been properly tightened at the factory! Really bad qualify control! But, as soon as he found the proper tool and tightened both fittings properly, it works like a charm! Takes out the nasty chlorine taste & smell of this water while we camp here. Was tempted to rate it lower because of poor workmanship, but it works so well to filter the water that I have to give it 5 stars. We previously tried a blue in line disposable filter that puked black junk out so bad we threw it away on the first day. This one is so much better.

The best waterfilter i have found
I used them to filter the bad tasting water in Arizona. these filters work so well with my motorhome, but the flow though is only 2.5 gallons per minute so I put 4 in Parallel (i know it is overkill) for my house so I am good to 10 gallons a minute. now we have wonderful tasting and smelling water in the whole house. We also notice the difference in the shower. on the down side, our dog now prefers to drink from the toilet bowl where she didn't before.

Best filter upgrade for your trailer of RV, great flow!
Love this filter setup, we used the cheap inline ones for over a year, and I decided I would try a better one since we RV full time. I love this unit, nice brass fittings, and the flow is way better than the restrictive inline filters, we were both shocked how much better this was, well worth the upgrade. (don't forget to let some water run through before you hook up to the trailer, or you will get some black looking water, we forgot.. had to let it run for a little while to clear it out.. oops) We will never go back to the inline filters again.

Great flow rate - but read my edits for issues occurring after a few uses.
Works as advertised. We use it to filter all fresh water before it enters our RV's water lines/tank. Great flow rate, removes impurities and lessens the impact of hard water on water systems. One demerit - make sure that you inspect the pre-installed filter cartridge before first use of the water filter. Our filter cartridge was wrapped in plastic; not a bad idea as doing so preserves the filter. HOWEVER - it would be extremely helpful if the user manual directed the end user to remove the plastic wrapper before the first use of the filter system. These sort of things are not always intuitive, folks. After writing thousands of instructional SOPs in my work lifetime, I have a pet peeve for incomplete instructions!UPDATE 8/27/2015:We're disappointed that the filter unit has begun to leak at the inlet port, after a half dozen uses. It appears that the brass inlet pipe was not properly tightened at the factory. Although this is minor, I'd expect no leaks at this price point.Additionally, the original filter failed after only six uses. We were at an RV park at the time - and fortunately we had a new filter, and were able to replace the defective filter on-site. At $41 a filter, I am not pleased. Yes, there are myriad factors that can cause a filter to fail - including water quality, etc. I was in the biological sciences for 30 years, and have worked with many water filtration systems - so this phenomenon is not new to me. Cheaper filters fail after a few uses - the C-2063 cartridge is supposed to be of good quality. The water used was not exactly extremely 'hard'. Suffice to say, my rating for this system has dropped one star, now to 3 stars.

It filters the water very well
We camp once a month additionally, we take a 3 week-long trip annually, stopping in multiple RV parks. The Hydro Life system works well for us. The filtered water is definitely an upgrade over the blue inline filters we previously used. We have not noticed the leaking fittings (knock on wood) other RVers have experienced. The filter demonstrates its value when you throw them out. We went on a trip back East and threw the filter out when we returned. The discarded filter stunk. I'd never go on a trip again without my water filter.

Ummm helped for a week
Product was easy to install. It helped with the sulfur smell for a week and now the water smells worse than it did before we purchased this. We would’ve been better off keeping our cheap blue ones and switching them every few weeks.

Great filter!
It actually works for 5 years. This is the 4th one in 20 years of camping.

I needed to hook up my water to my sons water hose while I visited so wanted to filter it before it came in. This is simple to put in between the RV and water source and it still fits in the compartment for travel. I wish there were a simple way to stand it up but I'll come up with something. I have a filter inside in the kitchen too so feel pretty confident its getting all the bad out, however I still don't drink it except using it for cooking and coffee. Water seems good and clean.
