Fun little kit. Wanted to do a Vietnam-era Loach-looking helicopter but didn't want to spend $50 and this kit fit the bill. Minimal gaps to fill on seams. A quick tip - put the skids on towards the end of the build as they have tiny anchor pins that break easily.

Was looking for a cheap little model helicopter to “mod” and add a mini powered Bluetooth speaker inside, so I could have music playing from a helicopter hanging above my head. This model was definitely wallet friendly. So I decided to give it shot. Surprisingly, it’s a cool little kit. Yes, a bit basic. But fun to play around with if you are just bored or want a little modding project like me. Not trying to go all out on precision and paint, I just roughed it together, made necessary cuts and adjustments. Stripped out the stuff I didn’t need, and added a couple things I did. One major thing being that instead of using the windshield/windows, I needed it to be able to allow sound to escape for the tiny speaker inside. Decided I would add steel mesh screen instead. It worked great as I designed it to have a forward facing speaker. All the electronics were low temp glued into position making sure to cut a slot for the charging port on bottom and a small hole drilled in the side to allow the power button to be exposed. I went with a cheap all black paint scheme just to minimize the rough speedy build quality. Listen, it was a fun little build and worked out perfectly. As for the quality of the plastics and design work of the stock model itself, it’s not bad for the price. I have seen worse. And it’s cool to just pick up a cheap model every once in awhile and see what all you can make out it. So if you are building this kit for just a regular model, or if you want to play around and try modding something this tiny, this is a great model for you. The instructions wasn’t too bad. I did find one inconsistent step that didn’t fit this exact model, so maybe they had 2 versions almost the exact same, so they used the same instructions booklet. Not a problem though. It went together easily. Once all the flash was shaved, the fit was almost perfect. And even though the detail is bit lacking, you need to understand that this thing is pretty tiny. You always lose detail the smaller things get. It’s 2.25 inches tall “legs included”, roughly 5 inches long, 1.25 inches thick at the body, Prop width is only about 6 inches. Seriously, this thing is like a tiny hummingbird once put together. So modding the interior can be an interesting challenge. So now I pass this modding challenge to the next person. Pick one of these little things up and see what you can make with it. I will be watching these reviews for the next mod posted. Have fun with it. ….P.S. in case you were wondering, music quality sounds like trash coming from such a tiny Bluetooth speaker. Hahahaha

I really enjoyed this kit, it looks great when finished and matches my 148 scale Huey helicopter perfectly. Highly recommend kit.

When I ordered this, I thought it was a play toy and instead it was a model that had to be put together. I was sort of mislead.
