I had this for 7 years
I had this watch for 7 years and recently replaced it but it was the best watch I’ve ever had, the battery life was still great after that long as well

It works great and it's only $199!
I was super excited to get the product in the mail. The price was the biggest selling point for me. I have always wanted an Apple watch but, the price was a big problem for me. So, when I saw it on Amazon for $199, I was sold. Most of the reviews were positive, and I never had a problem before with Amazon when ordering Apple products (even certified refurbished items too). The watch even came before the estimated delivery date! The Apple watch came in a tightly sealed box (as do most of Apple's products do). The box contained everything a standard new Apple Watch comes with: the S/M and M/L wrist bands, the charging dock, all the paperwork, and most importantly, the watch itself. Everything was brand new and in impeccable condition. The watch came nearly with a complete charge and started up with no issues. The setup was easy and the watch synced to my apps automatically. I was able to pair with my phone and adjust the settings to my preferences. The watch's response is seamless, and it's fluid when switching between the watch and iPhone. I think the watch is worth the money if you're using it to trach your health and for hands-free purposes. It's great if you're always on the go and busy with work that you don't get much of a chance to check your phone. Also, if you're phone is stuck in your bag or if it's on silent, the watch is a great way to get those important notifications instantly. And if you're a commuter like me, it's a life-saver.

You won't know why until you have one
Why do people love their Apple Watches? It's just a watch, for pete's sake! But if you have one you know right away. There's a small miracle that happens in a busy life when you can answer your phone (er, watch?) with your hands full. Or just glancing down to see the text message you just got. Or even completing those freaking rings (don't know? of you will). There's very little bad I can say after having my Series 2 for the last couple of years. I'm happy to get the 3 to have the always-on feature of cellular. I can leave the house and it's not even a problem if I left my phone. Or go for a walk without having a heavy phone in my pocket. It's not even about style, there's just a huge practicality of having a small device attached to your wrist that makes so many problems go away. Here are the positives: • Excellent watch. Like, as a watch. • Receive calls. Make calls. • Receive text messages. Facebook, Twitter, IG, and more. • Interchangeable bands. Fit the look you want, change on a dime. • Siri • Alarms, notes and all the other little apps. • Fitness tracking Really, I don't have any cons. I know people think a smart phone in your back pocket is the top, but this just changes the game. I don't know a single person who ever got an Apple Watch and didn't like it. And the funny thing is you'll never know unless you get one - Because how it changes what you do is the thing that makes it amazing. It's all those small little ways that make for a stupidly brilliant product. Seriously, you, your wife, your boyfriend - It make a perfect gift.

The many faces of Apple...Love it!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this watch. I hate to say that about anything but I have to be truthful. My husband bought me what I asked for, a Fitbit for MD. It worked fine, user friendly and all but the flimsy ratchet band is its weak link; I broke it easily the first day. That and the pins to fiddle with and be lost when replacing the band, smh—stupid design. So he returned it and I order a Huawei watch3 which, if I’m honest, I liked better than the Fitbit in looks and and strength in the band—but again that awful ratchet thing. It’s biggest problem was the screen wouldn’t swipe easily which I dont know if it was a defect or what, and the app is no bueno. Returned it and guess what? The Apple Watch 3 was on sale, only a few dollars more than the original Fitbit I had received. Now I am a long time Apple user—iMacs, iPads, iPhones, MacAir, etc, kind of sickening really—so I shouldn’t have been surprised they are up on their game. (Though I still use iPhone 7+ and don’t see I’m missing anything in my dtrs Xr.) I haven’t swam with it which was my prime motivation for a fitness watch but will update when I do. You have to download a sleep app and that worked great I’m sad to say—sleepless night last night. I hiked with it this morning and it seemed accurate, easy to use. I return texted my dtr on it all last night just to do so—you can speak your text or write it with your finger, both work great. I actually haven’t used the music or radio functions which require a Bluetooth headset but mine downloaded 11 minutes of my favorite music. It has a camera function which I find it misleading to say it has a camera—it is essentially a remote for the camera which is on your phone. Of course I couldn’t imagine a real camera being this tiny but I couldn’t figure out how it worked either until I heard my phone snapping pictures of the counter from across the room. I quite like the Breathe app which sounds ridiculous but we are a nation of shallow breathers because we don’t exercise enough (well I swim three hours a week and hike two but most people don’t.) Yet I like being reminded to focus on breathing and I set it at the longest intervals so I will deep breathe—good to lower blood pressure. I love the many faces of this watch and after playing around with them, even using a recent picture looking down into my Betta fish tank and the mandala made of its colors decided on the traditional look ( all above) with my monogram. I will eventually get more bands and a cover but for now the white matches my iPhone so I’m happy. Someone said you’ll never need another watch and I’d say that’s correct—until series 6 or 7 maybe. Oh one thing more, I don’t know about the battery life yet and some people complained you can’t wear it to sleep because you’re charging it every night; my question is why? Do you not sit and watch tv before bed when it could be charging, or are you going to rate that too somehow? Or charge it in your car on the way to or from work. Time management people is all I can say—no pun intended but it’s a good one huh? Update June 12, 2019: I have swam with this watch multiple times and love it. It not only tracks your laps but tells you which ones you did—even an ‘unknown’ lap when I was dolphin kicking but making nonsense arm motions just to get it to track bc it won’t track when you’re arms aren’t in motion. It gives calories burned as well as split and auto sets. I keep my heart rate on that screen too because that’s most important to me as I do intermittent cardio while swimming. (I do see now that the step counter is quite off for me. I do not believe I often walk 15,000 steps a day just around the house or even shopping. ) Sadly I did find the battery has a very short life if you use it as it is factory set. I was having to charge it twice daily but then I found how to adjust settings for battery conservation on the Apple site. Now it lasts a good 27 hours or so without charging. I have to tap to get the time but the constant glowing face in the dark when flicking the wrist was annoying anyway so that works well for me. I really like the flashlight on the watch as I often go to bed after my husband so I can see and still use my hands unlike a phone or handheld flashlight. One more thing, the alarm on the wrist is particularly handy so you don’t have to wake the whole household when it’s only yourself getting up. (Well I only need a wrist shaking to wake up; if you need four alarms this won’t work for you, lol.)

Overall Great
The watch for me overall is good! It came in an actual Apple box with all original apple parts. So as many people have mentioned in their reviews, the charging cord IS included but the little box that you plug the cord into and then plug into the outlet, is NOT included. For me this wasn't an issue considering I have plenty of spares and the 2 lamps in my room both have usb ports for the charging cord. I had no problem with setup. Both band sizes (S/M and M/L) were included. Some have said they have an issue with battery life. I have not yet experienced that. I worse mine for 2 days straight (excluding when I showered) and the battery was still at 40% when i finally charged it. I tend to sleep through alarms on my phone in the morning so I make it a point to wear the watch to bed. I charge the watch while I shower or while I'm sitting at my desk doing homework for school so my watch rarely drops below 60% battery. I've had to update it twice in the short 3 weeks that I have had it, but that an apple issue not an amazon issue. I had no problems with updating as some others have. I haven't tested the water resistance yet as I just don't quite trust it. Everything has always said that electronics and water just don't mix so until I get a waterproof case on it I'll just stick to what I know. I've seen a lot of reviews that say they essentially only use it to get texts when their phone is in another room, but I will say that I actually using the replying and calling features on the watch. Naturally the call volume and quality isn't the best but considering it's a WATCH that's not an issue so it's not worth all the other complaints on it. Working in a childcare facility, I can't have my phone on me at work. But living in Oklahoma during storm season, I like to be able to get updates from my weather app letting me know what's going on in case of inclement weather. Overall I have no issues. Especially considering the steal on the price!

A fantastic watch, with a few minor annoyances.
I deliberated on getting an Apple Watch for a long time. I found it unnecessary and I typically hate wearing watches. However, I am working on bettering many aspect is my physical health and decided to get one. I will start by saying that I love this thing. I opted for a series 3 because the price is significantly lower than more recent models. From what I can tell, battery life and screen size are the chief improvements in the new models. The good: The watch is super convenient for accessing the most used features of my phone, without the need to use my phone. I often don’t have pockets and keep my phone in a bag, so the ability to check messages and answer calls from the watch is great. I love that I can “ping” my phone. I misplace it at the house frequently. I only wish that, like the Find My IPhone app, the ping would sound until the phone is unlocked. The watch integrates with my health related apps perfectly. Anything I need to access quickly can be done; whether it be my activity and sleep trackers or my heart rate tracker. It seems to accurately track my steps, as my phone (in pocket) and watch are generally consistent within 100 steps for every thousand. The screen is easy to see. I don’t have great vision, but have no trouble reading anything. The not as good: The watch has a poor speaker output, when talking on the phone. I Understand that the intent is to use the airpod with this and I usually do, but there are times that I don’t wish to and I would like to be able to hear clearly. Photos require an entire album to be synced. I would love to simply be able to store photos of my choosing. This becomes a bit annoying, since the aspect ratio of the Apple Watch screen is 5:4, versus most photos being 2:3 or 3:4. In order to ensure they view properly, you must crop them in the phone. As a professional photographer, this is annoying to me. The battery life isn’t quite as good as I hoped. I presumed that I would get close to two full days from each charge. I get a little bit more than one day. I am not a heavy user, as much of what I do requires my phone. I get even less when using the AirPods. The music app should be able to play from the watch speakers. AirPods obviously will sound better, but sometimes, I just want to hear my music quietly while working and don’t care so much for quality. I don’t want to have to have my phone following me or put pods in every time. Lastly, the location sharing app, which shares the same icon as Find My IPhone is not super useful. There is no way that I can see that I can use this to find other devices of mine (MBP, my other iPhone, my iPad). From my phone, I can ping all of these devices. It should be easy to equip the Watch with the same capability to do so. In short, I still love this. The issues are minor and nowhere near enough to deter me, but these are things that should be addressed in updated models or the OS, if they have not been addressed already.

Great watch.
I still have this watch 4 years later, fit is great with the bands it comes with. Definitely comfortable on my running journeys and going to the gym. Durability on the screen is kind of weak and easily scratched, but this is an older model as well so the looks kind of seem out dated. The color is a sleek matte black which is cool, along with the wrist bands.
