Works As Intended
I like my unit. It is adjustable enough for my needs, seems well constructed, and even with the fans at full, it does not make much noise - at least none to bother me. Overall, it does its job and keeps my laptop (an Acer Aspire) perfectly cool. With the laptop on the unit, the red lights are not visible so they are not a factor. Keeping in mind I only use my laptop for Internet cruising and school work, I would say this is more than adequate at cooling. If you are running a gaming rig I still think it would do a fine job. The construction is sturdy and the airflow strong. It does need a USB power source, which for me is no issue as I use it on a table and my lamp has a USB plug. If you are powering yours off your laptop then I suggest you have the laptop plugged in. Running the cooling pad from your battery only will likely drain it quickly. Overall this was a great buy for me and if your situation is similar and you need a cooling pad, then this should do the job for you.

Great Riser and Cooling Pad - I liked it so much I bought TWO!
I originally picked up this laptop cooling pad for my 17" Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop. My laptop was running a bit warm on the desk and I felt like it wasn't receiving enough air into it's intake ports. This pad is made extremely well with a hard plastic and stainless steel mesh screen over the fans. Five fans with some fun led's - I picked the red as it matches my Nitro 5 keyboard. The fans are super quiet and push enough air into the intake ports of the laptop, plus it elevates it off the desk into a nice angle to match up with my monitors. Makes a huge difference to keep the laptop cool. Liked it so much I purchased a second one! This time for my work computer - a 15" Microsoft Surface laptop. I placed this one at the highest angle setting and have it lifted to match the bottom side of my work monitors. Awesome! If there's a downside, the footprint is a good size - perfect for 17" and 15" laptops - for smaller laptops, it might be a bit much. However, for me it's perfect and I highly recommend.

Works as expected.
I didn't expect much from this, but it does work and keep my gaming laptop supplied with cooler air. It doesn't move tons of air, but it does keep the surrounding area of it noticeably cooler than normal, to the touch. After maybe 8 months, maybe 10 months, the fans do make a little slight rattling noise. It was pretty quiet before, only hearing the sound of moving air. (wind) lol. It allows for changeable elevation levels which I love, keeps my laptop angled nicely, doesn't let it slide around too much, and allows more air flow the higher it's raised.

Good Product
The cooling pad came quickly and in good condition. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and so far it has been working well at preventing my laptop from overheating. I like that there are openings beneath the fan for air circulation since my laptop's vents are located on the bottom. It also has multiple angle adjustments , unlike some of the others I've seen, that have just one that only works on a hard flat surface. One thing I would change about this cooling pad is the bracket. The bracket itself is made of sturdy material, but with the way it is attached, there is no resistance to moving it, so when you adjust the angle of the laptop it can make clanging noises if you are not careful. Also, when I am carrying my laptop around with the cooling pad set at an angle the plastic gives in a tiny bit due to the weight of my laptop. It might be just my imagination and I don't think it is something to worry about since the cooling pad seems fairly sturdy, but it may be something to note if you own a heavier laptop (or just don't carry it around the house with the laptop set at an angle lol). For reference, my laptop is around 2.0 kg (~4.4 lb). Other than that, I highly recommend this cooling pad and have found its design to be lightweight and efficient.

This saved my laptop even in a quiet house I can not hear it! Whisper quiet and GREAT cooling too!
I LOVE this thing! I had an older over powered large 17" laptop that now basically serves as a desktop hooked up to a large monitor. It is much more power than I need to the cooling is not what it once was; fans get dirty (well the insides get dirty) fans become less efficient and it over heated often. This saved my laptop even in a quiet house I can not hear it, ever. That said it is winter in the Northwoods so the heating fan runs most of the time. If you want the actual numbers the core over heats over 100F and eventually shuts down laptop. This device has ever core running at 56/57 degrees. Which is superb. I'll get years of extra use out of this laptop. This has saved me a fortune!

Excellent product
Pros- very ergonomic quiet Cons- none I own a ASUS gaming laptop that has a 17 inch display and it has a very high tendency to overheat when I game on it for more than 30 mins. With this product it was able to maintain a cooler state and did not overheat/ get hot enough to feel. The adjustable height is a great feature as it helps with the comfort level of using a laptop and working on it. I barely notice the lights at all and the fans work great. Overall when compared to other cooling pads that I have used in the past, this one blows it out of proportion.

Air speed / cooling is surprisingly weak
Product looks good and feels sturdy and well-made, and runs very quietly even at the highest setting. But after a week of usage, I noticed that my laptop was uncharacteristically hot to the touch, and I wondered whether the fan was actually working properly. I inspected it, and the red dial was indeed at the highest setting and the fans were whirring at their top speed, but the air flow was extremely faint. I mean BARELY noticeable with my hand just an inch from the surface. I wondered how it was even possible for fans to be spinning so fast yet generating barely any wind. Perhaps a poor design of the blades or something? I'm not sure, but I saw other reviews complain of the same thing. I've owned other laptop cooling pads that blew strong cold air and kept my laptop nearly room-temperature...they were definitely a bit louder (this one nearly silent) but maybe that's the trade-off.

Cool device that works as advertised
I have an AlienWare 17R5 gaming laptop that runs pretty much 24x7 and it generates an enormous amount of heat, despite the two large and very noisy fans inside the laptop. I looked at several cooling units and, reluctantly, I bought this one, even thought I felt the size was too small for my laptop and I had my doubts it would do the cooling job I needed done. After using it non-stop for two weeks, I'm happy to be able to recommend this unit as one of those products that works as advertised and more. The unit is sturdy, yet it weights very little. I was very surprised that it can easily handle the extra weight of my computer at any of the five levels of tilt adjustment available for better viewing. The unit comes with five fans that are so quite, it is hard to tell whether they are on or off. I had to lift my laptop and turn the unit off and on, to visually confirm they were on all the time. Best yet, my laptop is no longer hot at any time and, as a bonus, neither is my office since the AlienWare does not put out any heat as before. Definitely worth what I paid for it
