Clean and Protect II Water Softening Pellets, 40-Pound, 40 Pound

Works well for my water softener. I continue to use these pellets.

I switched to this 3 months ago, and I am so glad I did. We have an older house. We bought a fixer upper.. so we used monthly salt everything was fine and dandy. I saw this yellow bag, knowing the people who has had that his havent taken care of it, i figured that probably went for the water system too.. and 3 days after switching all our water turned brown when the system did a cleansing. Our water people just said it was a backflush so we ran and ran the water. But it remained brownish so we used dual filters at the tap and it helped. Eventually it was clear again.. next cleansing it turned brown again, not as bad but it was brown.. this happened every system regen.. but it was less and less. The last 2 weeks when it regenerated no brown water, i had my suspicion it was never the backflush but this salt breaking down a dirty system. Due to the fact that the level of brown was fading i have my strong suspicion that it was cleaning as opposed to backflush as a backflush would behave consistent. Im never buying any other salt again, totally worth it in my opinion. Water is tasting better too.

As far as soft water treatment, this worked well.

Moved to I a area that has hard water.. the home has a water filtration system.. which now need replacing .. I can tell the difference when used and this salt is definitely worth getting 👌

Good product Just too expensive

Without question this is the best quality salt for your water softener. It adds so much protection for your system. I talked directly to Morton Co. System Savor II is no longer made. It has been replaced with "Clean & Protect" Pellets. He said the formula is almost exactly the same. So, I bought this for my brand new Softener. So I guess System Savor gets no stars, but so far I really like "Clean & Protect" No salt taste that I can detect. I'll give it 5 stars. But I'm no expert either.

We changed a few times to a cheaper product and had problems, with glasses or plates coming out with water marks on them. We change back to Morton Salt pellets, need to use less & gets the product. So Morton Salt Pellets with our industrial equipment works well. These large bags are for industrial types of consumer use. Buy a smaller bag if you need it for house appliances.

So, I bought this thinking that the price wasn't that much different from a store. I WAS WRONG. you can get this at other places for around $7.00 Good stuff but not for the money. unless you have a lot of money and want the convenience of not driving to a store.
