SureGuard Twin Extra Long (XL) Mattress Protector

I just purchased a new adjustable split-king Serta memory foam mattress and wanted some protection against dust mites and allergens, but didn't want to diminish the body-conforming characteristics of the mattress while sleeping. I also wanted something quiet on which to sleep. The reviews are mixed as to the quietness, so I took a chance and bought just one Twin XL protector to test it out on my side of the bed. Here is my review. The protector fits the mattress well. It is a thin material but seems to be durable (only time will tell how durable). I am a back sleeper so after putting the twin XL sheet on over the protector I laid down on the bed to see if the mattress would still conform to my body. The answer is 'yes', it did conform to my body, perhaps not quite as body-hugging as without the protector, but barely noticeable. But is it noiseless? No. Since these have a water-barrier lining I think it is unrealistic to think these would be completely noiseless. I attached a short video so you can see and hear for yourself. Since we have a split-king adjustable bed, it uses two Twin XL mattresses. The mattress on the right in the video has only a sheet, no protector. The mattress on the left has the SureGuard protector under the fitted sheet. Listen as I push down and move my hand around lightly on each side. Hear the difference. Now, as for me, I live in the country where there is no street-noise, so nights are very quiet and odd noises are exagerated. Yes there is a slight rustling noise as I slide onto the bed, but once I settle into position, it's all quiet. I just got this protector so I've only slept on it once last night, but I found it comfortable and was not bothered at all by any noise from the protector, and the memory foam mattress conformed nicely to my back as I slept. In fact I slept 'cooler' with the protector on than without it. So, all in all, I like it. I have not tested it for water-resistance since that is unlikely to be an issue. UPDATE: I've been sleeping on this mattress cover for a couple of weeks now. The tiny bit of rustling experienced at first has not been a bother at all. I'm not sure if the cover has softened up with use or if I've just become used to it. Either way, it's not an issue. I'm quite happy with it. I even ordered a cover for my husbands side of the adjustable bed and he is quite comfortable sleeping on it.

We just got a new mattress and upgraded our mattress cover to this SureGuard Queen Size Mattress Protector - 100% Waterproof, Hypoallergenic - Premium Fitted cover. I love it so much more than the one we bought at the Purple mattress store (don't do that). You don't even realize this cover is on. I got the cotton covered one and so far it seems to hold up to the hype of 100% waterproof. I have noticed no heat retention (and I would have noticed that, I sleep hot). The cover is thin, so no added bulk. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to upgrade (not to mention protect the investment of a new mattress!). I wish I'd found this sooner.

The Mattress Protector fits GREAT & is EASY to clean. Mine lasts about 5 years.
