2-Pack - Aurifil 50WT - Silver Moon (4060) Variegated - Mako Cotton Thread - 1422 Yards Each

This is my first time trying Aurafil thread. It is pricey so I have always gone a different route. The quality is worth the price. The colors are perfect for matching. I was most impressed with the fact that there is absolutely no feathering of the thread. Whether I was matching sewing or hand sewing binding on a quilt, it worked so well. The spools are a bit smaller than I like, but it still appears to go along way. Now I can see why professional quilt makers recommend this thread. I am a convert.

This is my “go to” brand of thread for piecing quilts. Perfect blender color. Product sells for higher price at the quilt stores, and with next day delivery, I probably saved a bunch more, as I didn’t have to go into the store, where I absolutely would have spent way more than the cost of thread! 🤷🏻‍♀️

This thread is the real deal! I could tell immediately this thread was a better quality just from the feel of it when I touched it. I normally use a 50wt cotton thread but I’ve always either purchased from a big box store or a cheaper cotton thread from an online store. The normal thread I buy usually fluffs up some and the cheaper online store brand I purchased caused a lot of lint build up in my sewing machine. I have heard good things about Aurifil so I thought I’d order some and give it a try. I sewed for about 6 hours and there was no fluff caught in my seams today. There was also let lint on the needle and press or foot at the end of the day. I didn’t look at my bobbin case, but I’m willing to bet there isn’t much lint to clean out right now. I am very please with this purchase and I think this thread is a high quality.As for the color, Dove is a very pale gray color. It has a matte finish and is very strong. I used it on pink, red, black, and white fabric. It worked fine for my quilt blocks. I don’t worry about an exact match when I’m piecing.

This is great thread and love how much is on it. Unfortunately I purchased the wrong color. Not sure what I did. Apparently I thought dove what a white not a light silvery. That’s my fault. Hopefully I’ll be able use it somewhere. I will have to reorder.They are clean and well packaged in plastic zip lock.

The thread is so lightweight I can barely feel it in my fingers, but it sews up strong, smooth, and beautiful.

Quality thread but smaller quantity than expected
