I have worked with MLV for many years as a sound reducing layer. This product with the added PSA adhesive on one side is excellent. It makes the process easier. One tip I'll add- you don't need to remove all of the paper on the adhesive; you can take off sections that are helpful and leave the rest so you are not struggling with an entire sticky side if you are trying to mold it. MLV is dense! And remember- scientifically- MLV converts sound waves into heat by absorbing the sound, so try to leave a gap if you can, even if it's very small!

Expensive compared to other non-adhesive options. The 1lb. Per sq. ft. weight is too heavy for the adhesive, which is basically just a thin layer of rubbery industrial tape that can peel off by hand. If I were to do it over again, I would get 2lb., more of it, and an after market adhesive, and probably still save money. Also, ensure your apartment walls actually have insulation (mine literally don't for some reason) and start there instead and with your door jams and outlets before going all in. It's better over bad, and does a good job of blocking certain frequencies, but won't block 100% of all noise.
