Good, not great. Edit: Now Dead at the under two years old mark
As of May 23rd 2023, this thing is dead. Just won't even power on anymore. Leaving the rest of the review as it was when I wrote it. But I would now simply pass on this one and move on. With the minor issues I had, I was ok with it, but now that it is completely dead after less than two years, no way I could recommend to anyone to get this particular unit. We have this installed and in use for about 6 months now. We use ice all day, every day. In addition to many beverages, both of our dogs have been trained using ice cubes as treats, so ice gets used up pretty fast. (to the dog thing our giant mastiff can handle the cubes from this machine, but the smaller dog gets ice from the built in one in our fridge, much smaller... just in case you are worried about them). Almost everything about this machine is good. Super easy to install, no drain needed, makes a ton of ice. Not loud or anything. The negatives are, as at least a few others mentioned, this thing ends up more or less freezing everything in it to a giant block except the most recent top layers. Once every few weeks I get too annoyed and dump the whole thing and defrost it. It's not a big deal, but it's annoying. The whole unit does frost up a bit from time to time around the ice maker too, but so far has not yet caused a problem. Sometimes you get a block of 2 to 8 "cubes" stuck together too. Can usually just bust those up with the scoop though. Now, going back to to the whole thing freezing into a block - it's absolutely true that when it gets too frozen up you WILL hurt yourself trying to get a few pieces out of the giant block of ice. That's usually the point I defrost it. We also replaced the plastic ice scoop that is shipped with it with a metal restaurant grade scoop. That helps, a little, with breaking up the ice, but not enough - and note, you obviously can't store that inside the machine. Would I buy it again? Probably not, but I'm also not going to replace it anytime soon unless it dies on me. I gave it a 3 out of 5. It's probably a 3.5, but it's few problems are enough of a problem at this price point to have me rounding down, not up on my star rating. At half the cost I would have given it a solid 4, but at this price point, no way.

Built-in freezer! No drain line needed, very quiet!
Update: Almost 2 year later and I still love this ice maker! The only maintenance that I perform is that if there are long durations between use, I’ll have to dump the ice and defrost the ice maker, but this is typical with any freezer. I’ll do this if I haven’t been using the ice for a while and I want a bucket of fresh ice the next day. It’ll start making ice right away but it’ll take a days to fill the bucket. ***** Love this ice maker. This was the only undercounter unit I found that had a built in freezer so that the ice doesn’t melt after it’s made. Door is reversible, which I did, it only took a few minutes to change it around. The unit itself is very quiet. I installed an inline water filter so that the unit makes ice with filtered water, everywhere I read said that this will extend the life of unit as there won’t be any build up in the internal waterlines. The ice comes out super clear, glad I did this. At first I was a little annoyed that there wasn’t a built in water filter, but then I realized I preferred that it didn’t have a built in filter because I was able to install my own heavy-duty filter and not rely on a filter only provided by this manufacturer. It’s an expensive ice maker for sure, but it’s a really well made one. It took about a day to make ice to fill it’s bin, but it so convenient not to worry about drinking ice for my parties now.

BUYER BEWARE !!! DONT BUY !!!
BUYER BEWARE. DONT BUY!!! This ice maker is junk. It freezes up and needs to be turned off and defrosted at least once a month. The last time I turned it off to defrost it and turned it back on it wouldnt get cold. I have reset it and unplugged it and it still won't get cold. I tried contacting the seller but they won't respond. Paid over $1000 for something that is useless. I will be reporting them to Amazon. They shouldn't be aloud to sell their products on Amazon or any other website for that matter.

Make sure it's Level....
Installing it level will help the door seal a lot. It will develop frost inside if the door seal isn't completely tight because the unit is not level. Works great when level, makes ice fast, easy to get the ice out. I love that its a freezer, not a make and melt icemaker, so it doesn't require a drain, and its not constantly making ice. It gets full and stops. Became Fed UP with my refrigerator icemaker Always on the blink, and this solved that problem. I have had it in over 2 months and its been reliable.

Does not completely freeze the ice
UPDATE: After a few months of complete sludge of ice, the machine stopped working altogether. Complete garbage. Below was my original 3-star review. Does not completely freeze the ice: It really depends on what you want the ice maker for. At the coldest setting, the ice is still weak and quickly dissolves with room temperature drinks. Can't really make frozen pasty drinks. The shape of the ice is not pretty either. Otherwise, is a third of the price of a Viking or SubZero, looks pretty, no drain is needed, and easy to install. On the other hand, this is the second Ice Maker I bought. The first one was bought from an Amazon seller Deals4RealZ, and he sent me a used and damaged ice maker that I returned the same day. However, he only refunded the tax and charged me the entire cost as a restocking fee. A true scammer. When I called the seller, he acted very "thug like", cursing and the like. I am still dealing with Amazon for their A to Z guarantee trying to get my money back...

Bad lifespan
Worked for just over the warranty period and went out. Reached out to the manufacturer about replacement/repair parts but could not determine the issues to the problem. At first, the mechanism that dropped the ice stoped working, received a replacement part and installed according to the directions providing. Powered up the machine and now it doesn’t get cold. Reached out but could not offer any solution. For an appliance over 1k, this should have lasted 1+ years….. Spend your money elsewhere…
