This Hat Works WONDERS!
I decided to write a review for this hat because of how much love it.I've had this hat for about a year, now (the black version) and it still holds up phenomenally!Everyday, I work with animals, at my farm, and I sweat A LOT. Not to mention, my animals are always shedding, they're always losing feathers, they're always molting, they're always jumping on my head, they're always doing what animals do...and where I live, the temperature fluctuates like crazy, too! One day, it could literally be snowing; and in the next day, it could be 90 degrees. Suffice to say that this hat has taken a beating!Even still, it is 100% the most comfortable and most durable hat that I have ever worn.I don't go through hats by the pile, however. I do my best to clean this hat, whenever I can, so that it can last a very long time - and so far, my work has paid off!In my line of work, it's handy to have a lint roller around. The hat cleans up very well (when I do clean it). I wear it about 5-6 times a week for maybe 4 hour straight. I've noticed no shrinking, not much fading of the color (only in the areas where I touch it most; and any brightening of the color could just be attributed to the powder that comes from chicken feed), and no deformities of its shape. You can really tell that this hat was made with brilliant craftsmanship - seriously. I really have to praise Borges and Scott for their hats! I will DEFINITELY buy more hats from this company, in the future. The only quirk that I have is that the hat band just doesn't look too attractive, to me.I THINK that the hat band is genuine leather, but the finish that's used on the hat band is just too shiny and makes that hat feel too "clean"...in any other occasion, the shiny hat band and 0-lint-on-the-wool look is REALLY classy. Maybe I'll buy another black hat for that very purpose, but I mainly use it for work and the ruggedness of the hat band needs to match the aesthetic of the hat.So, what I did was remove the hat band (being careful NOT to disrupt the wool by pulling the threads, which the band was sewed to), I did away with all the brass-looking hardware, and I cleaned off that shiny finish with 91% isopropyl alcohol. The finish came off just fine; but ultimately, I realized that the back of the hat band already had such a lovely and natural texture that was just wasted. I flipped it, tied it, gave the ends a cool cut...and I LOVE the way it came out!Anyways, great hat. I was gifted another one (the brown version of the same model) but the black one just feels right on my head!

Great Fedora
Great hat, great service. I finally found a fodora that fit my large head. It wasn't described as crushable100 % wool so I will be careful.

Could be Great ( Updated)
This hat arrived just about a week ago and I've now had a chance to wear it in the sun, snow and wind. But, before I get into that, my first impressions are:The hat is well made. The brim is wider than I was expecting even though I measured the 3.5" against my current hats, but the wool felt is soft and smooth - definitely of high quality.I'd ordered the hat in large since my noggin is an astounding 23(ish) inches around. The hat went on easily and fit, but the fit is not snug. I stuffed some folded paper in the band to tighten it up a bit and while it's better, it still doesn't fit as well as my Joseph A. Bank fedora. Sadly, I don't believe a smaller hat size would work as it would then be too small. As they say, go larger.Although I'd measured out the brim size multiple times before ordering I was still still caught off guard by how wide of a hat this is.In the sun, the hat is great. Plenty of shade around my eyes and due to the thinner wool felt I can easily see this being a three-season hat.I did find the brim non-shapeable, which was somewhat of a disappointment. And, unlike my smaller fedora with a 2.75" brim, I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing this cocked to the side.In the snow this hat worked fine. Granted, it wasn't a heavy snow, but a light flurry that lasted for 34 hours. The hat kept the snow off of me, as it should. The wind is where the hat failed. We had 25-30MPH winds here the other day and each time the wind caught the hat it flew off my head, me chasing it down the sidewalk or across the parking lot.One day I went to a nearby by country/Western store and tried on a Stetson Gallatin (the other hat I was considering) and decided I much prefer this B&S Lewis due to the shape of the brim, not the size of it.All-in-all, it's a good hat, just not what I was hoping it would be. Perhaps that's my fault for setting my own expectations too high. I did get one compliment though, so that was nice.I am going to take a strip of vegetable leather and wrap in inside the band to see if I can't get the hat a little more snug.Edit/Update: this hat is still going strong. B&S read my review and sent me some cork inserts to help the hat fit a little better. While I don't wear it every day I do wear it during inclement weather and it's been holding up nicely. (Photo with me in a mask is from today, 11DEC2020, Denver, CO) I really love the green color. It's so beautiful and has me spoiled regarding other hat options. High winds still make the brim flop around like a sheet in the wind, but it's something I can overlook as the rest of the hat is amazing. If you're on the fence, get off it and buy this hat - totally worth it.

Nice quality! Dad loves it!
Nice quality felt hat. You can squish or fold the hat and it returns to its original shape with no creases. Great for rainy weather and keeping those drops of your glasses. Both my husband and Dad love them. Hubby has had his for a couple of years and it has held up great! True to size.

Understated quality
This is an impeccable smart looking hat. The quality is undeniable and the hat feels substantial. It’s the perfect understated statement this minimalist likes to make.

Great hat, good in light rain.
I love this hat! It is comparable to others sold in local stores at there times the price. It was too large- I used the measurement instructions for my head, but I kept in small amount of the spongy lining that was in the hat band and it works fine to resize.

A nicely made, good looking wool hat.
I like to read reviews to see how regular customers like their purchase. In my experience, that is usually a good idea and this one is a case in point. When I saw the guy that took a picture of his new hat, I liked the look. Hat makers every where should always include a person wearing their hat when selling online. Wearing this hat gives the wearer a very good amount of weather protection. Good, thicker wool is nice for keeping its shape that you need when dealing with the elements. A hat like this with this price is just smart to have. Glasses dont get wet, smudged from the elements. I will be using this for snow removal with it's nice big brim. The color green is just how I like the color. Very good purchase. It's a little big on me, I have a size 7 3/8 or 23 inch head. Just put a little foam sizing strip in the sweatband and it's a good snug fit.
