Works just like the old PC versions.
A really engaging game that works well on our OLED Nintendo Switch. It is an old DOS game that has been ported to the Switch. Being an old game, it looks it! Clunky old style graphics in a 2 dimensional world. However… It was fun back in the day, and it is still fun now! You design and build your own theme park from scratch, setting prices, hiring staff, making pathways, plant trees, make hills, make lakes or ponds and MUCH more. You build roller coaster rides, swan love boats and monorail systems putting stops anywhere you like them and painting most things the colors you like. Or, you simply buy the rides you want from a menu and place them where you want. Sound dry and boring? Wait… The kids can make their rides crash, make a ride so violent the little people get off the ride and throw up a little pink spot on the walkway. You order your little cleaning staff to clean up the area or not, over time making a gross mess. Be sure they add restrooms, food and drink stands and souvenir shops or the little customers start complaining. The object of the game is to make your theme park successful. There are goals to reach and everyone in the park celebrates their good work by cheering and letting all of their balloons go up at the same time. But… that is really NOT the point. If a kid or a group of kids finally understand what’s going on, they can get really hooked! How do I know? My Grandkid loves it. HINT: Don’t lead with it on Christmas morning if your Kids are waiting for their Super Hot Ticket NEW Game. Slide it into their Stocking. Sit back and watch. They won’t know what to think of it at first, but if they play it for a while, watch how much fun they’ll have! I hope they like it as much as my grandson.

brought back some fun memories
We used to play the PC format of these games many years ago and loved them. This new one is good, but they took out quite a few things we liked. Things we really like about the new game: -No more trying to figure out how to get the path for the ride to work (especially when they used to be in the air), they are all ground level now -New quests/challenges to beat -The staff is no longer on a salary, you hire them and they do great every time Things we miss about the old games: -There are a lot less coasters, and you can't customize speeds on them. -The menu you could go in and tell you what your customers were thinking, what they were wanting. Now you only get the occasional person that will say they like something or something is broken down -The research area. On the previous ones you could set it and forget it type of thing, where it would continue researching until you turned it off, this one you have to go in every time one is done and research more. -You can't interact with the customers. The previous ones you could pick them up and move them around, or see what they were thinking, how much $ they had, etc. This one you can't do anything with them. All in all I'm glad I purchased it, it has brought back some fun memories and now our daughter can learn to play and is having fun as well.

I had a blast!
I did not expect to love this as much as I do. It’s pretty easy to place your paths and attractions, much easier than I thought it would be as I sometimes have trouble moving things around in games like Animal Crossing. My only complaint is it crashed a couple of times while I was playing but on the bright side, it auto saves, so I didn’t lose any progress. Overall I think it’s a great value for the price as it has already brought me hours of joy. Highly recommend to folks who like games like the Sims, etc.

Smile with a tear
I love this game. I have had a chance to play th he original rollercoaster. I became a fan for life. I had the chance to grow up with this series, and looked forward watching them grow, and wow did they grow. Graphics upgrades, more content, more expansions, and then android app. I have it on every phone and tablet I ever owned. Boom, my children found me the perfect memory gift on my youngest daughter's birthday, she passed away. I introduced her to Rollercoaster Tycoon 3.. she loved the water expansion. She loved watching them on fast forward, she giggled. So, this game will be one of my favorites, and it will hold more meaning to me than the average gamer. So with that I give you 100 stars and more if I could, but the 5 ssd's tars will have to 500 stars total.
