EvoShield Catcher's Thumb Guard

This is great! It keeps my daughter from hyperextending my thumb when I catch for her!

I don’t post many reviews, but I had to mention how great this guard is. I was in the batting cages today and caught a 70+ mph pitch wrong and it blew out my thumb. Now, I still sprained my thumb, but I’m convinced without this guard, I would have torn some ligaments! It could have been a much worse outcome without it. I’ll always catch with this in my glove!

Was a gift for my son’s friend. He said he liked it. Fit fine and helped him with his catching.

This thumb guard is useless. We molded it as instructed for my 14 year old son as instructed, and he can't even get his thumb in the catcher's mitt without it digging into the back of his hand. Causes a lot of pain and discomfort. Don't waste your money like we did.

I am a dad catching a 19y freshman college pitcher, fastball speeds 80+. Any ball caught in the mitt with a glancing blow on the inside/outer edge of the thumb were destroying my thumb by wrenching it/bending it back in the glove (even though I have a brand new catcher's mitt). As my son's velocity has climbed I was convinced it was a matter of time before something bad happened to my thumb. This product ~stopped~ the problem. I just ordered another one two days ago. I lent mine to a kid catching my son, not sure if I will get it back!Update: 1/30/24 - My son is still going strong, hoping to go pro. Speeds are in the high 80's low 90's. I won't catch anything from him unless I have this in my mitt. Saved me from serious thumb damage many times.

Performed as expected, but a bit bulky to insert into the mitt unless you loosen the ties somewhat. UPDATE: Just couldn't make it work so that glove and shield worked comfortably - not in use for now.
