Amazing pedal
This is one incredible pedal, I have been playing guitar over 40 years and I have amassed a lot of equipment and I can honestly say that this is the best most versatile overdrive I have ever used. You can dial in any tone you want with this thing I will add that I use tube amps ,but the combination of a tube amp and this pedal is absolutely amazing!

This thing rocks
One of my favorite pedals for distortion. Plenty of gain on tap and I get some really nasty tones out of it.

Noisy as Hell
I would expect more from Bogner, the pedal I received was super noisy. I used the pedal by itself, direct into the amp with no other pedals and BUZZZZZ !!I then used my Fulltone Fulldrive by itself, direct into the amp with no other pedals and clean as a whistle.

Very good pedal!
The sound is great! It has thumpy lows and bright highs. It sounds aggressive, but not too much. The only complaint is with the mid control on the bottom of the pedal. It is difficult to set because it is hard to reach. Also you can't tell what setting it is on when you move the cross. Bogner should have added a small knob on the side of the pedal for easy access to the mid eq control.

Great High Gain Distortion pedal
Great high gain distortion pedal. The pedal brings an aggressive sound and a lot of variables for the tone. You can play hard rock with low gain and the most insane metal with the high gain.I think personally the pedal works better with a warm amp EQ rather than a bright one. I think this can cause a little some difficulties, upset or dissatisfaction for some users. I reccomend take your time to configure you amp and the pedal, take a picture of the settings and be patient until you reach the desired tone.Regards

It’s just a pedal
Not at all like the actual amp channel.

Not even for $79...
I originally posted a review at Sweetwater where I purchased this but see that they've since taken the page down so I thought I'd post a new review here in case it'll be of help to anyone. First, the good. The pedal is much smaller than I expected which I really liked. It was nicely packaged. The end. Now, the not so good. I realize sound is primarily subjective so saying that I disliked this pedal more than any other high gain pedal I've ever played through means little. I own over 60 pedals and this was the noisiest. There were 2 issues out of the box. The power receptacle was too far recessed such that most of my power adapters or cables would not fully seat to provide power. I found a cable that had a longer shaft than is typical to test it. I'll add that the location of the power jack was the worst I've ever seen. The 2nd issue was that the LED was barely visible in low light and not visible at all in standard light. See photo. I'll concede that it's possible that the 2nd issue was related to the 1st but unlikely. My first inclination was to contact Bogner directly. Good luck with that. No working website. All I could find was a signpost; a site that said it was coming but the site was dated over a year earlier. I could not find a working phone number. I even got a number from Sweetwater but there was no answer or machine. Returned it.

Baby bogner!!
I bought both the blue and red pedals right around thanksgiving last year when they were on sale for under $100 each. I use the blue pedal for low gain/ cleanish tones and the red for heavy distortion. At first I liked the blue pedal more because out of the box I was able to dial in the crisp cleans and lower gain plexi sounds with ease, a pedal that covers a lot of ground. The red pedal took me a while to dial in the distorted sound I was looking for, but I blame that on my own impatience- this pedal also covers a lot of ground and has a lot of switches that can be flipped similar to the blue pedal. Once I found my tone on the red pedal- it’s like a distortion I’ve never experienced- distorted and heavy yet you can hear the note articulation when playing more dense chords- a sound I’d been looking for but had not yet been able to achieve with a budget rig. I think both the blue and red pedals are based off the channels of a bogner tube amp- so for a small fraction of the price these pedals give a glimpse into the larger more expensive tube amp. Money well spent!
