This Fridge is Just So Great!
Yo should totally spend more and get this thing. It's a lovely piece of kit. I know, because before I bought this I made the mistake of buying a Haier brand which looks like something German, but it's not, and it failed within a few months and I kept using it.Anyways, this one has a great light in it that doesn't burn out after a couple days, and I put this thermometer in there and sure enough, the dang thing is able to keep a good temp: top shelf is 33 degrees at one or two bumps above medium. I actually just now turned it down when I saw that, because I had moved up the coldness (to make it colder) when before, at medium, that top shelf was about 37 degrees. That shows you how accurate this fridge is. What a great piece of kit. One level above medium gives me 35 degrees, another bump up gives me 33 degrees, freaking amazing how accurate they can make good kit, now. But I had to pay for it, this ain't no cheap fridge but then again it is highly affordable, so it's all good.In my old fridge, I couldn't even keep veg but in this one I got some nice lettuce just sitting in the lower container and it don't get spoiled. This fridge is really, really good. So happy about this. I bought something that totally works in the way that things used to work.

Buy extra ice trays
Bought this mini fridge a few days ago for my media and room too hold beer, cokes, cold snacks and such so I wouldn't have to keep running up and down the stairs to the kitchen. Works great so far. Came only with one mini ice tray that freezes quickly (but they are mini ice cubes) Also bought the protection plan but in hindsight that purchase was probably unnecessary. Its pretty quiet.

Much better.
The freezer was just too "icey". so we ordered the compact refrigerator with a separate freezer compartment. Much better.

Nice looking but...
Doesn't have quite as much room as I'd hoped but will be OK in my studio. I will put in on top of a cabinet to make it more accessible.

Excellent Small Refrigerator
I have a spare bedroom with a separate entrace and wanted a small refrigerator in the room for convenience. This refrigerator is great for the purpose. First, I checked the temperatures of the freezer and refrigerator sections with a high quality thermometer used to measure temperatures on refrigerated trucks. At the medium setting, the freezer temperature measured 0 degrees, both full and empty. The refrigerator compartment measured 40 degrees at about half full. Both of these are ideal temperature settings. Second, the unit is absolutely quiet. Even in the silence of the night, with my bed only a few feet away, there is never any sound. I never hear the compressor kick on or off and don't hear any circulation sounds from the refrigerant. Third, it puts off very little heat. This is important in a small room in Arizona. Fourth, there has been virtually no ice build-up in the freezer compartment; just a thin coating of frost. As for size, I am using NutriSystem and the entire month's shipment of frozen foods from its standard assortment fits in the freezer. Just barely, but it fits. The one negative is that the shelves in the refrigerator section are not adjustable. They are either in or out. But there is can and tall bottle storage on the door. One bit of advice: If you want the unit to run silently and efficiently, do not plug it in for 2 hours after moving it.UPDATE: Due to my moving out of state, I decided to sell this unit. However, ending up in a similar situation, I bought another one. The good news is, I still give it 5 stars. This one seems to make just a slight bit more noise than my first one, though it is not noisy by any stretch of the imagination. It could be that this is due to the fact that this one is sitting on hardwood as opposed to carpet and that the house A/C has not been running. Still, it is also in a smaller room and it still is almost silent.

All's Well + 1 Year Update
Update: 3 28/16For some there may be an unacceptable cosmetic problem. Top of the unit is covered with a plastic film and after a few weeks a bubble formed around one of the rivets. Also, I sat a couple of bottles on top of the unit and noticed they scratchs. Today that bubble has spread widely and there are several scratch marks. If it were in a bright room where guests would see the refrigerator's top it would look unsightly and you would need to cover it with a cloth. No problem for this bachelor hermit, but for a family home's party room....I remain completely satisfied with its performance and the noise factor may have increased but not enough to be noticeably annoying as it is with other brands. Aside from the bubbles, one of which looks as if it may go down the side, this is a fine cooling unit and the freezer works great. Defrosting is the usual hassle.------------------------------Original review 3/18/15My greatest concern was shipping damage. I looked at all the compact refrigerator's 1&2 star reviews and most common was a damaged dented product. Same for window air conditioners. There is a problem with shipping large heavy items and most especially a problem with the hassle of reboxing and returning them. I don't have a way to do that and so I held my breath. First relief was learning the shipper was Amazon and they were using FedEx and not UPS for their free delivery. UPS is not as reliable in Austin, Texas and a visit to both company's shipping offices will tell you why. This unit was securely double boxed and had no damage to either box. Whew!I plugged it in and so far everything works as expected --except, it's quieter than I had imagined. My only criticism is the can rack in the door. Shows how far I am from the average compact user in that I haven't bought canned liquids in decades. I am a beer drinker but it's bottles only around the home, draft in a restaurant. So there's no space for upright 12 oz bottles and no way to get rid of the race which for just takes up space. I knew all that when I ordered.FYI, the other part of the door rack will hold two bottles of wine. The refrigerator I received is as advertised.
