This book is written in easy language representing comprehensive core Dharmic values/traditions of this great ancient country. The authencity is enhanced as the author Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi is a venerable sage. Those who have young children should definitely have this book. Those who are grand parents should read & discuss with their grand children. Then perhaps the next generation won't be alienated from our great civilisation. The book publishing & print quality is very good.

The book is not a translation of the Vedas or a commentary on them, but provides an excellent introduction to the various texts and concepts that form the core of the Hindu scriptures and practices, by Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi (the previous head of the Kanchipuram matam, a much revered and learned scholar who was a powerhouse of knowledge on Hindu philosophy as well as a saintly soul). There is also a very useful table at the back of the book, which classifies the various important Hindu religious texts.

Gives a detailed description of what vedas-upanishads-brahmanas-upavedas-vedangas etc are. This is an english rendering of original speeches given by the Chandrasekharendra saraswati Ji.It has a huge table (in size of a map folded and pasted at the end of the book) summarizing all the branches -- This gives a great feel and bird's eye view -- I bet you will love it.One who is desirous to know from the roots to fruits of our VEDIC culture I suggest to read this book.
