Substantial reduction in sound transferring.
Great product. I ended up buying an additional 50ft roll to complete my project but was very impressed with the results. With the 1lb version I was able to use long staples to attach it to the studs I’m not sure that would work with the 2lb version. In a 4x8 sheet you’ll need help lifting it to get it mounted but it’s very manageable. As far as the people saying this ripped easily, I can only imagine they were trying to do too much by themselves as I didn’t have any issues. Photos are of the midway process before and during sheet rocking.

Great MLV will purchase again
MLV is super expensive but in the pursuit of sound deadening your vehicle it is a must. Works great keeping road noise out and audio noise in. Couple it with Butyl or Bitumen CLD tiles and a decoupling layer of Closed Cell Foam and you've got yourself a quiet ride. MLV is super heavy and very dense. It does tear fairly easily so be careful when handling it.

Horrible Quality
The material rips away from everything. I tried nails with roofing washers, staples and screws. The only way to get it to stay up is to put so many staples or nails in it that it makes it impossible to attach anything over it. The MLV they delivered in the past was tough enough to take a fastener, this bundle I received recently is junk. Now the seller will only take back the two rolls that are in “sellable condition” or they suggest I resale their trash product.

Too floppy for me
The flexibility of this MLV is supposed to be a selling point, but its floppiness makes installation very difficult, and it tears more easily than stiffer varieties. I found stiffer varieties to be a better choice.

Need quality MLV?
I was doing a dedicated home theater build, needed a lot of MLV ( i got 5 of the big rolls). I got this stuff and it was the way to go. The product does not delaminate like some others, is as heavy as you would expect, is fairly pliable at normal temps, is easy to apply, and lays flat. While it can be used for walls, I used it for the floor and riser in the theater. While it looks like it was processed, handled, and delivered by space monkeys on crack, there was probably only about 3% total loss due to inept handling. Keep that in mind, logistics don't like this stuff due top weight, and they make that clear. Other than that, it is exactly what you think it is, works well, and is easy to use. I feel that at the time I bought mine, i got the best price possible. This is NOT dynamat, it is not sticky, is is not a butyl variant and cannot be squooshed around. This is not for your car... not saying you cant use it, just that there are dedicated MLVs for that purpose out there and this stuff ain't it.

Eh
It deadens sound decently. The roll i received seemed like it'd been through a lot already

The Perfect Sound Barrier?
This stuff is great! It's a real pain to put up (especially if you're trying to put it on a ceiling) because of the weight, but it does the job quite well. I had sound coming from between my foundation and house from the busy main road just 30 feet away from the house. Draped this from the ceiling, down the wall a couple feet. Tacked it in place (LOOSELY, do not pull this tight or it doesn't work as well). My room is now whisper quiet.

Great product. Easy to cut and work with
I purchase MVL as as a sound barrier on a new wall partitioning a big room into two. I did staggered studs using 2x2 instead of the traditional 2x4 and weave in the MLV top to bottom in between the stud. The product was easy to cut with just a box cutter to the a little bit more than the length I needed. It is heavy, as it supposed to, and needed help from my wife to lift it into position and screw it on with some washers, then it was very easy to cut to exact length with the box cutter. I didn't scientifically measure how much sounds it prevented to pass from one room to the other, all I can honestly say that it did help and I think it was worth the price and the effort to install it and I'm very happy with this purchase
