Saved me thousands and bought three
This is my third Ring Water and Freeze Sensor. I went back and ordered another one after having such a good experience. One of them alerted me when my basement started to flood. I got a call from Ring and was able to catch it early. I am sure it saved me thousands of dollars in potential damage. Totally worth it for the peace of mind.

Works!
I've had this in place for over a year in my laundry area. I got an alert from my app (and a call since it is monitored). Yep! It detected a leak and we were able to stop it from causing an issue.

Basement peace of mind.
It does what itās supposed to do, but I have to knock off a star because setup and configuration in 2025 in the current version of the Ring app for Apple IOS is far from straightforward. First, there is no Flood & Freezer Detectorā listed under Security devices when you select āset up new device.ā You need to select the āScan a QR code.ā After that the device installed normally. However, this brings up my second complaint with the current version of the app, the Flood and Freeze detector doesnāt show up under installed devices. Itās hidden under āBase Stationā with all of the other switches and sensors. So if youāre like me youāll be scratching your head on where you can tweaks the sensors settings if you buy the Flood & Freeze well after you set up your alarm system. Iām hoping Iāll see the notifications on my phone if / when the sensor gets triggered or here the notification from the base station / keypad, as you only get a call if you subscribe to the monitoring service.

Notify yourself of water leaks
These little sensors are great for detecting water leaks. I place them all over my house in places that could potentially leak water to notify me if and when a leak is detected so I can remedy the situation before it becomes a massive issue. I highly recommend these sensors, especially if you are using Home Assistant and want to automate electronic valves like I have for my water heaters.

Impressive
We purchased the flood and freeze sensor to put by washing machine, especially since a rental we had in past had a faulty hose, caused entire home to be flooded. Decided to give this a try in our home and I like to wipe down my washer every now and then but a little dirt had gotten on inside of washer lid lip, say that 3 times fast haha. I had used the the little plastic cup for liquid soap to rinse it down while washer was filling. Well, learned something valuable, don't do that.. It can go outside of drum area and go down to floor! There was maybe at most a quarter cup worth of water on the floor and the sensor detected it, sounded an alarm in home and called my phone to make sure I knew there was water detected!! We were hoping this would be a good product and it definitely impressed us! So much so that we purchased another one for our garage for the hot water heater. Recently that started leaking and caused several items in garage to be soaked but luckily we caught it pretty quickly, no damage. Wish we would've had this device before that happened though. If you are wondering if it's worth it, I assure you, it is!! Eventually, I think we will be putting them under every sink as well. It's small enough to be hidden, approximately the size of a hockey puck and quick set up and if you feel the need to mess with the settings like my husband does š š, you can even disable the freeze setting if you live in a climate that doesn't really freeze. Worth every penny!!!

Donāt wait buy it now! Itās peace of mind thatās unbeatable
After a flood from a frozen pipe, I purchased 4 of these for an office that was built in the 1920ās. Itās very drafty and cold and evidently when the cold wind blows a specific way it can freeze the pipes. The flow started Friday night between the first and second floor and kept going until Monday morning. I have security and Internet and cameras and nothing alerted me to this until an employee walked in. Now with these I KNOW without a doubt if that ever happens again, Iāll know immediately. At least then I will be able to limit if not stop any and all damage. I have subscription which is 100% worth it because if thereās even a little condensation in the spot I have it, I get multiple calls so does my office manager. Then I also get an alert on the app and a text. Thereās absolutely no way to miss it, ever. I love this and I wonāt be without it. Now I am looking to change all my security at my home and other office to ring bc not all systems have the freeze and water monitor available, not to mention the persistent calls from the call center until they speak to someone, thatās unbeatable. I have had ADT and Xfinity and two other local places and no one had ever kept calling until they spoke to someone. They do their part, notify you, and move on. That not what ring does. They make sure they speak to someone or they keep trying. When it comes to your home or company, thatās priceless. I had the system before the flood, I just didnāt know these little gems ever existed. Now I wonāt ever be without them!
