Sturdy and Functional
The plastic base broke on my office chair and the metal base from Duramont was the perfect replacement. Made of metal and very sturdy. Just added the wheels from old base and put chair in middle and I was back in business. I will definitely purchase this product again in future if needed.

Fantastic customer service
Appears to be a sturdy unit, but: Ordered one of these in August but on Christmas day one of the legs broke. Ordered a new one not knowing it had a warranty. We contacted the manufacture and after explaining to the manufacture that we have tile floors that may have caused the damage, it didn't matter, we received a full refund for the replacement base the next day. What great customer service! Installation is simple, removing the old one can be quite a chore, not as easy as the instructions would have you believe. After a few years of use those things get wedged in there tight.

Amazing!
I bought this base as a replacement to my $330 Noble rocker chair. The cheap base on that chair broke in just a little over a year and this is my solution. Not only did it fix my problem but this chair has never rolled this effortlessly. It is absolutely an upgrade you should do right away. I waited until it fell apart because I didn't know these replacements existed. Would have done it immediately. Completely changes how your chair feels.

It's trash-van-tastic!
The shipping on it was insane, it arrive in a desk-sized box. I was a bit surprised. It installed fine and took my casters just fine and seemed to hold well (I am 450) under my chair. My usual problem with bases is that the caster wells break (many chair companies use nylon wells even in metal bases). Then one night as I sat typing I heard a cracking noise. So, I got up and checked out the chair, everything sounded fine. I went and got a drink and when I st back down I heard a pop and the whole chair collapsed with me in it. Result, the heavy-duty base shredded in the worst breakage I have ever seen in a chair base. so unless you are under 120 I would not recommend this "heavy-Duty" piece of junk

Sturdy and should last a lifetime--
The original high-impact plastic base of my office chair got worn over time such that one of the caster wheels started falling out when I scooted the chair away with any weight on it (the hole the caster wheel sunk into widened over time), so I was looking at $200+ to replace this chair with a similar type. Although there are many cheaper chairs, I wanted another fabric-covered chair with a high thick head rest, because here in my home office we have cats, and not only would their claws wreak havoc with leather or faux leather upholstery, but they also like periodically to hang out on my head rest. Once I saw this replacement base, the solution was clear: keep the chair, replace the base for 1/4 the cost. The hardest part of replacing the base was knocking the original base off the chair. Tried a mallet at first and finally grabbed a hammer, but once it was off the original wheels easily snapped into place and the cylinder slid right in and voila! Done! Very happy to get a new lease on the life of this chair for $50. It's got many years left in it.

Good but..........
I’ve had this for about a year and a half. I’m a big guy and I have a drafting chair. The chair is heavy duty but the base wasn’t that great. I replaced the base with this one and I also replace the wheels with roller blade style. It was great at first. Now, one wheel keeps falling out because where the wheel goes in has cracked. I’ve tried every epoxy and cold weld I could find but nothing works. Now I can’t even get a hold of the seller for my “10 year” warranty.

If you're upgrading the wheels, upgrade the base, too!
I have an old office chair, that I have repaired and upgraded in several ways. The chair is approx 15yrs old. Use it every day for multiple hours. The original wheels (typical wide plastic double casters) were getting sluggish, so I decided to upgrade to some actual wheels. They are great, larger wheels, smoother rolling, raises the chair a bit. BUT ... they also increases the shearing force the base's wheel shaft housings can be subjected to. When you happen to want to move the chair perpendicular to the way a wheel happens to be facing, the wheel will try to lay over until it turns and start rolling in the desired direction. Sure enough, after about a month, one of the wheels ripped right out, blowing out the housing. Duramont to the reasonably priced rescue. $40 sure beats buying a new chair. The wheel shafts and lift pillar are all standard sizes so replacement was pretty easy, though it does take force to squeeze in the wheels, and a hammer to knock off the old base. So far, so good, the aluminum if taking he abuse fine, and I appreciate the ridges on the bases spokes making it easier to rest a foot on.

Fixed my Son's Staples gamer chair (2710774)
My Son's Staples gamer chair (2710774) was subjected to my Son leaning back and eventually breaking the base to wheel connection on one of the legs. It's a great looking chair and I didn't wanna get rid of it just for the broken base. And I didn't wanna spend another $100+ for another chair and try to figure out how to get rid of the old one. Found online that bases were replaceable. Measured the hole for the seat shock and measured the wheel shanks and this base was exactly what I needed. Ordered it in and in 5 minutes of install, my son is back to gaming and the rest of us can use the chair/computer once again. Thank you for the great product!

This chair base is made from an aluminum alloy that is strong and should last a very long time. Being aluminum it will never rust or corrode. It is also very light weight. It comes in a large box that actually weighs more than the base inside it. I have not set it up yet since I need a new gas-lift cylinder.
