I have tried about a dozen coffee beans to arrive at this one. It is the absolute best, non organic included. It is a very nice, not too dark roast. Lovely as an Espresso or Latte/Cappuccino. Love the intensity and flavor. You wont want to drink coffee elsewhere. Never change my coffee beans ever after.

The earthy aroma greeted me the moment I scissored open this bag of perfectly roasted Organic Sumatra Mandheling Coffee Beans! Two pounds of heaven. I couldn't wait to brew my first pour-over cup. Delicious. I thought about it for weeks before finally taking the plunge, but in the end, I decided that life is too short to drink one more cuppa crappy coffee! Purchased from The Organic Coffee Co. on June 2nd, 2025, delivered to my front porch at about 5:00 am on June 3rd. Yay! Anyone would love this; HIGHLY recommended.

Changed from 3 to 4 stars because I'm stupid and this stuff is a little better than I thought. I didn't realize it was a medium/light roast and tried to make it like a dark roast, so it tasted flat. After adding another 10g to the grinder, grinding it a little bit finer, and steeping for 10 minutes instead of 6, it made a pretty good cup of coffee. Not the best, but it's okay. Still, unless you do this it just tastes like ordinary ol' coffee - not bad, but there's nothing distinctively Sumatran about it. For the price I guess it's okay, and I'm sure they weren't trying to pass this off as the best quality on the market, but you can get better Sumatran coffee. Dancing Moon, for example. When it comes to Sumatran why would you want anything less than a dark roast, anyway? The distinctive flavor just isn't there without it, unless you really gob it into your press, that is, but that's just a waste of coffee... and money, so you might as well just buy the more expensive stuff right from the get-go, use less of it, and get more enjoyment out of it.

Flavor is good but, like others noticed, it is the darkest "medium roast" I have ever seen. The beans are oily and sticky so I often need to shake my grinder so that the beans will flow smoothly. This is a good tasting coffee and a good value.

What a mistake! First, the bag we received for an order made in June 2025 had expired in May 2020. The coffee beans were broken and overly roasted, resulting in a horrible taste. This is not Sumatra coffee.
