2% Thoriated TIG Welding Tungsten Electrodes 1/8”x7” 10-Pack

These tungsten were pretty good. They aren't the best when it comes to dipping the tungsten but they are good enough in that aspect to make me want to keep using them with their great arc control. They have such a steady arc when on stainless that there is really no alternative to red tungsten. Definitely goes great with a large 12+ size cup when on stainless, but I cant understate how great red tungsten works.

it arrived really quick. I used it as soon as it came, and I can tell you for certain that it is a good product. I stuck it in the puddle couple times by mistake and it did not go dull at all. I recommend 100%

I purchased this not for welding, but for calibrating my Radiacode 103 gamma spectrometer. These definitely output gamma rays consistent with the Thorium decay chain, however the signal is very weak. The reason for this is that most is reabsorbed in the tungsten material, so you only get a signal from Thorium that is near the surface of the rods. It works very well, you just need to place them near the radiacode for a long time (many hours) to collect a sufficiently strong signal.

Great product! Was a little skeptical with the cheap price then impressed. Holds up very well with a lot of heat,,,,, and a little dipping. Been times I thought for sure I would have to resharpen but surprised to find out different.

Did ya know Thorium is named after Thor, the god of thunder? Yup. I put my Geiger counter on the pack of electrodes and it went crazy.

Total novice, so I won't buy junky stuff that hinders my education. These were highly recommended on YT...so I got em!
