Aquila New Nylgut AQ-9 Concert Ukulele String - Low G - 4th String

BEWARE: as others have stated, this is ONLY the low G string for a concert Uke.That being said, this string brings a beautiful deep sound to your Ukelele. If you don't already have nylgut strings on your Uke, I'd recommend you buy a set of those strings to go with this string. My Fender Stratocaster Ukelele came with nylgut strings and had a high G, so I just put this string on. I love the change of sound when I drop the G string to low.This is a wound string, for those who are asking. It is very light, so from a distance you can't tell, but when you run your finger on it be prepared for the squeek you get on a guitar string.It is very easy to install, as it is a wound string, so it grips nicely for winding.Overall, it is beautiful quality and produces a nice deep tone.My one complaint is that it's pricey for only a single string. Other 4 string sets are the same price or a couple of bucks more. The 4-string Low G Nylgut strings for my Tenor Uke were only about a buck more.

The media could not be loaded. Great sound and quality. Used them on a small 17 inch thrift store ukulele and was able to cut them in half to make two sets because they are so long. Great instructions on how to tie off on the bridge. Once they are stretched out they hold their tune really well, took about two weeks to stretch fully.

I bought a previous low G concert string that didn't fit the nut. This one was perfect. BTW, it's really not easy to find the gauge of various strings. The sustain on this string is incredible. It has a very bright sound. To be fair, I did not change my other strings, which are like 2 years old.

Buy extras. The string will fray at the fret points. This will cause fret buzz. The work around is restring the same string moving it up or down from the fret worn areas.

Yes, this is only one string. If you have a new uke, you don’t need the other strings to go to a drop g tuning. This is a wrapped/coiled string, which is a little tougher on your fingers, but it is worth it.

These strings transformed the sound of my uke. Love the bulgur. Nice and mellow timbre, but the strings still ring out like they need to.Would recommend!

This wound low G string is about the same thickness as the Aquila high G New Nylgut string making installation a breeze. It also matches the timbre of the other three white Nylgut CEA strings. Chords sound much better now.If you look close enough, you can tell that the G string is not the same as the other strings, but being almost white in color, it is a close match.Yes, I would prefer that Aquila make a non wire would low G string that has the same thickness as the high G new Nylgut, but guess it's not available.
