Disappointed the toaster was plastic not metal

I'm leaving the original review below so you can see what I changed. While my regular toaster has larger slots I found that using the bread holders works well. I was able to but in two slices of orowheat buttered, and with two slices of cheese and it worked better than I expected. It is a tight fit and I believe it is supposed to be. I buttered the bread and watched with caution. Turns out it works fine and butter does not drip into the toaster. Below is my original post.I like the bread holders that come with it. That is the best feature.My regular toaster has wider and longer slots that are more appropriate for trying to make a sandwich. I use regular orowheat bread and it does not fit well unless I only have one slice in, but that is not the purpose. You have to use thin sliced bread.Overall I doubt I would buy again if I could go into the way back machine. It does look nice, but is plastic compared to my other toaster that is metal.I am not sure if putting buttered bread in is a good idea. I am reluctant. Likely to use just as a second toaster.

Not near as fast as a skillet, but it gets the job done without the hassle of having to mind the stovetop while preparing more sandwiches. I got mine just yesterday, and so I've only used it once - so I can't speak on the longevity of the item just yet.I like my sandwiches a bit on the brown side, and had to set it to the highest "melt" level - and then still had to toast them twice. But, the american and swiss melted GREAT and the sandwiches were DELICIOUS! The sandwich racks work well with little to no mess. The box advertises that it can do grilled ham and cheese also, and I wouldn't be surprised if those turn out great as well. The racks aren't going to allow you to get too imaginative with your creations, because they need to keep the sandwich pulled tight without the contents spilling out.Assuming that this new appliance can stand the test of time, I am going to get a lot of use out of it. For grilled cheese lovers, and at this price tag - this is a BUY.EDIT: Not a buy. It did NOT stand the test of time. After just a week, the heating element began to have a short in it, and you could only stand there and hold the lever down to get it to cook. And about two uses after that, it quit working entirely. I threw it in the garbage and will look at another brand.

I was disappointed with this product as it is just a regular sized toaster. You have to smash the bread in order for it to fit. And then you get butter all over the top and sides. The slots need to be wider.

I have 2 twin boys and I bought this to make them fast clean grilled cheeses, what I mean by clean is effortless and not getting a pan dirty, or turning stove on, etc. This thing is like a grilled cheese microwave in comparison to the old pan grill method. way faster way cleaner. I use franz 9 grain bread which is like daves killer bread, I have not used bagels or anything else so I cant say what else it handles. I bought the normie size but it will do 2 grill cheeses at once in about 4 min. I also needed a toaster when I bought this which is another thing I like about this is its also just a toaster and it cooks even and good no complaints.

THIS is TRULY an amazing Grill Cheese maker.Surprised my Husband with this for our Valentine's Day gift.We used it right away and it's definitely a keeper.Sandwiches come out great....
