L'Oreal ParisFeria Multi-Faceted Shimmering Permanent Hair Color Hair Dye, V38 Violet Noir (Intense Deep Violet)

This is my new favorite at-home hair dye. I was previously using a similar color from Vidal Sassoon, but mistakenly purchased this one. I'm happy to say this is one of my favorite mistakes. The color is much richer and it leaves my hair ridiculously soft and silky. I've used various brands of hair dye at home, but the softness and luster this dye leaves my hair with is the most comparable to when I get my hair professionally done. My hair is naturally very thick, jet black, and coarse; however, I've recently began to sprout a few grays in there. The darkness of my hair makes the gray just that much more pronounced. Before the gray started to kick in, I never really dyed my hair because it was so black, no color would show without bleaching my hair first. Now that the first few grays have come in, however, I thought it'd be nice to dye those a nice deep purple to give my hair a little highlight. The pigments in this dye is very rich and in my hair comes out as a deep purplish red. You can't really see it indoors, but it's noticeable in natural light. The first time I used this dye, I was very surprised with how soft and smooth my hair turned out.Applying this dye is just like using any other home box hair color, but this process includes maybe a few more tubes than other brands such as Clairol and Vidal Sassoon. The dye itself is a very rich dark pinkish purple during application and is more than enough for my thick hair's root section. With other brands, specifically Clairol, I'd have to use two bottles for the roots and three for the whole head. Rinsing takes a bit longer than other brands, however. This color also seems to rinse out faster with subsequent shampoos, but it hasn't faded too noticeably between colorings (I try to re-color my roots about once a month).I was so smitten with not just the shade, but the way it conditions my hair, that I told my sister about it who constantly dyes her hair and always has it in different impressive colors, but she already knew about it and was actually using it as her go-to at-home treatment herself! This is a great way to both color and condition your hair at home for a fraction of the price of a salon with very similar results and I highly recommend it!

The Violet Noir color (Intense Deep Violet - V38) is definitely more red than is shown, but it's still a lovely color, like a very dark red-brown. It is also, hands down, the longest lasting red color I've tried. Months later and even though most of the color and darkness had faded, there was still a distinct redness to my hair where any other red dye would've been long gone.

This has been my go to color for YEARS now. Probably more than 5 actually. My natural color is dark brown with some grays and this dye colors my hair the color on the box!It has become more expensive in stores recently so I decided to do a subscribe and save on Amazon because they - it's always good to save money!I am impressed! It arrived in perfect condition, but also this formula seems to be BETTER than when I buy in store? Perhaps just a fluke, but it went on my hair more evenly, and the color seems more vibrant even though it's the same shade. Also I usually lose quite a bit of hair when I dye it (all dye is rough on your hair) but this time there was very minimal breakage! If it's a new formula then bravo!Will definitely keep my subscription going!

My hear was bleached but like 3 inch grown out. My natural hair is light brown. I was worried how is gonna cover. Is turned out better I thought. It is more purple like in the box. Which is better for me. Love it. Probably next will be little darker.

Funnily enough, the purple color wasn't as apparent as I thought it would be on my hair, but that is actually more of what I was going for- a dark brown with purple hue that catches in the light. The dye itself is a scary bright red as you put it on. It is also a little more runny than other formulas I've used which unfortunately contributed to dying my wall a little bit.It's a good color if you're wanting to add a little fun and interest to your hair but can't or feel to nervous to commit to a bright vibrant unusual color.
