This 2 hole punch makes 1/4" holes that are 2 3/4" center to center.

What is different in the 'limited edition'?

The limited edition is just a little sturdier. We have several 2 hole paper punches in our office and the limited edition seems to have stronger springs and the little slide bar the you use to measure the paper width is a little thicker. We have a couple of the standard ones where the little slide bar has actually bent a little. Both work well for punching the 2 holes and both very accurate. We usually only punch holes in 1 to 3 pieces of paper at a time so I cannot say if one is better than the other when punching through multiple papers.

How to use the steel bar? No instructions came with it.

The steel allows you to center the paper. It keeps stacks of paper straight.
