Joseph Joseph Rota Folding Manual Knife Sharpener, for kitchen knives, non slip base, Red, 24

Seems to work very well at sharpening my knives, they seem to stay sharp for a good time, and I like that it folds up and goes in a draw nicely. I got it on offer and for the price I'd say it's well worth the money.

This is the first knife sharpener I've ever bought so I don't have a distinct frame of reference but it's been working an absolute charm for me. For years I've tended to just dispose of knives that got really blunt - what an idiot I was!The reason I started shopping around for a sharpener was because some of the knives in a set of Joseph Joseph knives I had had started to get noticeably blunt, making it harder to slice through carrots etc. As I'd paid a fair bit for them and I really liked how sharp they were brand new, *and* I had a veritable collection of older, blunt knives begging to be sharpened or thrown, I started to look for a sharpener.When I started the search, I found this Joseph Joseph sharpener and, although it was a little more expensive than many other sharpeners, I thought it would make a tidy fit in the kitchen and I was intrigued by the 1-2 system for sharpening really dull blades and sharpening blades just a little bit before you start chopping.It works a treat - my really dull blades have been sharpened and honed to the point where they slice through carrots like butter. The swivel-out handle for use makes it very safe to use. It looks great and it's saved me a lot of money on knives.I felt it had to lose a star for the cost but if cost is no impediment, feel free to add another star.

I bought this knife sharpener for use with my set of Joseph Joseph knives and it works well.There are two ceramic wheel slots that you slide the knife through - the first slot will provide a generally sharp edge and then the second slot will provide a finer sharper edge.It folds in half for easy storage. I am happy with my purchase.

We bought a set of kitchen knives for our first home three years ago. In that time, they've been kept in a drawer and not in a knife block. Consequently, the knives have dulled over time. This was most prominent over Christmas when I managed injure myself (very mildly) trying to cut a butternut squash in half lengthwise. At that point, I knew the knives needed sharpening.This small and elegant device suited my style and needs. It's compact and beautifully styled. Yet it sharpened each of the six knives effectively. Just run the blade up and down several times in slot #1, then again in slot #2.The instructions are on the back of the card that the sharpener is attached to by cable ties. It recommends using the first slot five times and second slot ten times. I doubled that number. Rebel.The knives were sharp enough to cut an apple down the centre effortlessly. No resistance. Minimal force. Yes, I checked each knife.The instructions state this sharpener is not suitable for serrated knives but for regular straight edged knives, I'd highly recommend this sharpener.

For some reason I thought it would be smaller than the actual size from the pictures but happy for its compact size that fit easily into the cutlery compartment inside the drawer. Ease of use is very good and sturdy enough to keep your digits safe when placed on a hard surface. It comes with a rotary cover to keep the sharpener clean when not in use. Already notice the difference it has made to my knifes. Definitely a big thumb up from me!

I am rubbish at sharpening knives! This does a fantastic job. It out the edge back on a very blunt kitchen knife and keeps all my blades super sharp. I am so glad I bought this. It was Which? recommended too. Can’t recommend too highly.

Does a good job at sharpening the knifes, although it does seem to visibily chip the metal. I guess it's not for any type of knife, but for the cheap or mid-range ones it works like magic. It's not as sturdy as it looks in the picture and slightly pricey for what it does - you probably pay some %30 for the brand.

I've owned and tried several. This is by far the best and the compact size is bonus because I travel with my Global knives. I've now purchased two more as gifts for those who enjoy being in the kitchen as I do.

El diseño me ha gustado mucho y es muy fácil de usar. Ocupa poco espacio y afila muy bien.

Muy útil. El diseño plegable lo hace fácil de acomodar sin ocupar mucho espacio.

L'affila coltelli Joseph Joseph Rota a mio parere è un ottimo prodotto.Ho affilato più di un coltello a lama "liscia" ed il risultato per ora è più che buono. La lama taglia e non risulta segnata o rovinata.Inoltre è pratico da usare e facile da ritirare, perchè occupa poco spazio.
