New HomGar App is Superior to the Older RainPoint App
Original Review: This is a good product with excellent technical support. Jane even answered my email on a Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, it is quite restrictive in its watering cycles. I wanted to water 10 minutes every hour. The RainPoint app cannot do this. On the mist setting the maximum it can water is 59 seconds with a maximum interval (time between misting) of 15 minutes and 59 seconds. On irrigation mode you can water for a maximum of 11 hours and 59 minutes, so I could have set 10 minutes but there are only 3 programs, so I could only do it for 3 hours per day. I don't understand why the app is so restricted. Surely the app programmer can write a more comprehensive set of choices. A nice product but unfortunately it will not work for me.Updated Review: I am increasing my rating from 3 to 5 stars. RainPoint has an upgraded app called HomGar that comes with some of their newer models. When I swapped my original model (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GC1BSG8) for a newer model (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C332DJ2F), I was able to do everything I wanted with the upgraded HomGar app.The HomGar app is far more flexible than the RainPoint app that came with the original unit I purchased. The misting time (how long it mists for) and the interval (time between mists) are both from 0 to 60 minutes (e.g. you can mist for 16 minutes and 34 seconds, then wait for 58 minutes and 27 seconds before misting again). You can run the misting program (duration) for up to 12 hours per day (in one-minute increments) or you can stop watering by water usage. You can repeat every day, odd days, even days or customize (e.g. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday). Irrigation mode allows you to set the start time, watering duration time (or water usage amount with maximum watering time) and repeat schedule. You can have up to 6 plans total (e.g. 2 mist and 4 irrigation plans). Just slide to the left to delete any previously installed plan. You can also use the app to set alerts for specific values of temperature and humidity. The hub display that comes with the new unit is excellent (see the photo). It displays weather forecast (you need to set your location in the app and if you want just today's weather or alternating between today's and tomorrow's), current UV level, time, date, inside and outside temperature and humidity, next water time, and last water usage amount. It also has a very useful automatic backlight setting, so you can have it brighter (a sliding brightness scale) during the day and darker at night (set by time of day). It does need to be plugged in at all times - the batteries are just for backup.I believe the hub's outside temperature and humidity are captured from the internet (along with the weather forecast and UV level), so there is less need for a thermo-hygrometer sensor, but you can add one if you want one (HCS014ARF), as well as a soil moisture sensor (HCS021FRF) and a water flow meter (HCS008FRF). Everything can be connected through the HomGar app.Videos are available for installing each of the sensors as well as the main units (hub and timer). I didn’t need any of them as the Wi-Fi connected easily and the HomGar app is fairly easy to use. The app did warn me that my phone was connected to a 5 GHz network and only 2.4 GHz was supported (I have a dual band router) but I just told it to continue, and it connected to the 2.4 GHz network without issue.I particularly liked the quality of the main units. The hub is bright, clear and colorful. The faucet timer is sturdy and connected without leaking (see the photo). Brass would have been nicer than plastic but that would just raise the price of the unit and the plastic is working fine. The faucet timer does reduce water pressure, but this seems to be an issue with every timer that I’ve read about or used. The manual says the unit comes with a 3 year warranty but my package had an insert with a 5 year warranty card if you emailed your order number to RainPoint. As I said in my original review, their technical/customer support is excellent.I found the charting features (called charts on the hub page but statistics on the timer page) that come with the HomGar app somewhat helpful. The hub charts indoor temperature, humidity and air pressure in 24-hour, 10 day, or max increments. The timer charts water usage in daily or monthly increments. There were a few minor issues with the manuals (grammatical and other) but I did not find it distracted from the ability to operate the product. For example, the water timer manual talks about a "Cycle & Soak" mode on the home page that doesn't exist. Apparently, it is now called "Mist".Overall, I couldn’t be more pleased with the new unit and the HomGar app. I fully recommend this product to anyone needing an automatic, Wi-Fi enabled water timer.

Rainpoint Smart WiFi Water Timer system Water Saver
Rainpoint Smart WiFi Water Timer system has been a great addition to my garden. The setup was straightforward, and the app integration makes scheduling and managing watering times a breeze. The smart features allow me to control the timer remotely, which is convenient when I'm away from home. The system is mostly reliable, but there were a couple of instances where the connection seemed a bit spotty. Overall, I'm pleased with the performance and would recommend it to others looking for an efficient and user-friendly watering system.

Powerful Remotely Operated Irrigation System with Helpful Extras
I have plants that I want to maintain in different locations. I've been using a stand alone water timer made by the same company which works well for turning the water on and off, and running a schedule (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0BNH8RP69) but it doesn't allow me to monitor remotely or change parameters without pushing buttons on the device itself. The WiFi controlled water timer and the included RF (radio frequency) Hub allow for lots more flexibility, control, and measurement of my irrigation, and also allows me to add extras such as a sensor to monitor soil temperature and humidity. Setup of the System is easy (I followed the detailed instructions in the printed manual, but there's also a link to a setup video); you'll need a WiFi Router that operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency, and 4 AA batteries for the Water Timer (the yellow & gray device with the hose connections). The app for my android phone was available on the Google Play store (iPhone app is available on the App Store), so I downloaded it, opened it on my phone, and followed the instructions to connect the app to the router. Next I followed the instructions to connect the Hub (the oval device with the outlet), then installed the batteries into the Water Timer, and followed the instructions for pairing the Water Timer to the Hub. (Note that the Water Timer communicates with the Hub, and the Hub communicates with your Router, so the Water Timer doesn't directly pair with the router.) The RainPoint software that runs on my phone is intuitive and easy to operate; From the Main "Parameter" menu, it lets me know how many gallons (or liters) of water have been used, the battery status, whether the water is running or not, and the next scheduled irrigation. From the "Irrigation control" menu, I can choose between 1 and 60 minutes of irrigation, and from the "Plan" menu, I can set my watering schedule and implement rain delays if desired. (See screenshot photos of the different app pages including a screenshot from the "Sensor" page - which is available if a sensor is added to the system.) In playing with the system, I discovered that some of the features are really helpful for remote monitoring, for instance, the Water Timer not only turns the water on and off, but it measures the water usage. I thought I had an error in the software or device because there was no water usage showing on the main menu page; it turns out I had turned off the spigot that feeds the Water Timer. My neighbor lost three palm trees last year because her house renters turned off the spigot that irrigated the lawn! I also like that the app sends me push alerts on my phone letting me know when the system is active and when it stops. Additionally, the Hub has an integral 110 volt outlet that can be controlled by the RainPoint app so that devices such as grow lights can be activated -the software even has a built-in timer function for this outlet. The remote monitoring functions of the system can be greatly enhanced by utilizing the RainPoint Moisture and Temperature Sensor: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B09Q2YW31Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I included a screenshot of the readings from the sensor, because I found that it was really helpful to have this device in the remote controlled system. I will review the sensor separately. Suffice to say, this is a powerful system with lots of options I've not even mentioned. I was pleased to get more control over my irrigation system and be able to operate it remotely for about $30-35 more than a non-Wifi based system ($60 - $65 if the Sensor is added). I consider myself to be fairly technically proficient, however, with all emerging technologies there are little hiccups, both with the product and with user error, so I also had a chance to communicate with RainPoint's Customer Service. They were responsive and helpful, in answering my questions both by telephone and by email.

Easy and works great
If you know how to add a wifi light, its easy to install and the app is well made. My schedule can delay 24h watering when meteo announce rain. Very useful. Also, the gateway is also a wifi outlet.

No product support
It worked well at first, but went off line and I could not get it back on line. The app reported that the hub was connected but it would not find the water valve. Went to support and they concluded the water valve was faulty and they would replace it. After that all I got was the runaround. No replacement. They said they did not have a record of the sale. I sent a copy of my invoice . No reply. I gave up.

Connection problématique
Attention.
