An Excellent Continuation and the Series!
The Pokémon Adventures manga is excellent, and the Ruby and Sapphire series does not disappoint! The series covers things from a different light: Ruby wants to get out of his father's shaddow and win contests, while Sapphire wants to win the gyms! They challenge each other to a contest to see who can get to their goal first, with so many days to do so. This is made difficult as Teams Aqua and Magma attempt to wake the legendaries of Hoenn, Kyogre and Groudon. The entire region is in climate chaos, and these two are in the middle of things! An excellent read that I can't recommend enough!

If you have a kid that likes the game or show. They'll like this
I always saw these manga at book fairs as a kid but I could never buy them cause I didn't have the money. I grew up with the series and Ruby Version was my first video game. So I liked that and I like this manga. It's not childhood nostalgia. This is a story that the kids will love and adults will get a kick out of. I only wish the Manga for the (GS Box set)(The Manga Volumes set before this one) (No you don't have to buy them to understand what happens in this one) weren't so limited. Guess I'll have to buy those separately. But the box that these come in are great for organizing yah know.

These are high quality but very different from the anime
Awesome manga in an awesome series. These are very hard to come by depending on the time of the year. My personal suggestion is if you are interested in any of these manga series to buy them while you can before they get to scalper prices.

A love letter to hoenn
The Ruby and Sapphire Manga are the greatest! I don't even have this set and have only read 3 but I already know what a treat it is to have it. I could freak out and blabber on ALL day about why I love Hoenn so much but to keep it simple: Rayquaza, RubyXSapphire, weird trumpet music, whismur, team aqua, on and on and on............. Edit: I got this for my birthday and it more than lives up to my expectations! I love hoenn so much, even though the first game I played was Pokémon Y. Pokemon Special really captures the spirit of hoenn and I LOVE the characters and the in-depth relationships, drama, and changes they have and make throughout this installation of Special. Cannot wait to read the rest of Emerald and start or as! P.S. Pokemon Special is another commonly used name for Pokemon Adventures.

I bought these for a 12 year old boy who is Dyslexic. He had been in Special ED at school for 5 years but he continued to have trouble reading so he did not enjoy reading. Once I started buying the Pokemon books he started reading more. These are simple to read and easy for him to read. After he reads a book I have him write a 2 or 3 sentence book report for each book. He must complete the book reports for every book in the collection before I order him the next collection. It took him a couple of months to complete the reading and book reports for the first 2 collections I bought. Now he has the books read and the book reports written within a couple of week. He told me the other day he is enjoying reading. Thank you Hidenori Kusaka for writing these books.

I really loved this game, but the author loves it more.
16 years ago I played Ruby and Sapphire. It was my favorite generation and to this day I have not even come close to playing a game nearly as long as those games. I have easily sunk over 1000 hours into the games and played through them dozens of times. I have a soft spot for this region, and I will always love it. But I don't think that I loved this game as much as the author of this series. This series exists because the author fell in love with the series just as much as I did, and it was very clear when reading through them. These books practically took me back to the adventures I played out when I played the game as a kid.

Perfecto

An Awesome Collection For Trying To Catch 'Em All
An awesome set including all of the Ruby and Sapphire arc of the Pokemon Adventures manga. This is definitely the cheapest way to buy all the books, each volume costing between £5 and £10 individually. The only negative is the "Poster" that the box set includes, it only being about A4 size. However, it's a fine bonus I suppose. If you want to collect each volume of the series, this is the way to do it!
