Works better than sand
Sand filter used to sometimes send some sand into the hottub. Sand alone cleaned debris but did not eliminate slimy deposit. These blue balls make the water crystal clean.

Blue Balls Every Guy will Like
I used these instead of pounds and pounds of sand for our new pool filter. They worked great. I just put in enough to get to the fill line indicator for the sand. I like that they can be reused - although we haven't needed to do that and I don't feel wasteful buying a bunch of sand to then throw it away at the end of the season. Great purchase. No regrets.
