Ok, it sounds alright, now let's get into how it's worth it when: A.) no claves B.) no shaker C.) THE CRAPPIEST FINISH -unfinish is more like it- ON WOOD THAT ANYONE'S HAD THE AUDACITY TO ASK A BILL OR BETTER FOR EVER...maybe. It's going back.Oh, and how is it that I bought the el-cheapo fiesta one for my young son made with a pressed wood shell and it's of better craftsmanship? Wait, I'll answer that, it's clearly labeled on the el cheapo cajon MADE IN THAILAND. Why would they do that and not on the Mahogany or Walnut ones since they're more expensive? Oh, cuz the box on my Walnut on says MADE IN CHINA. Yeah, it shows. So far every musical instrument I've bought from Thailand's at least got proper finishes, they're all smooth and the wood fits together nicely. Hell, my Gon Bops logo's not even fully transferred. Nuff said.

Mine came just right. Claves were aluminum instead of wood but they sound good. The finish is actually the only major downside I found. To me it sounds great. I bought the gibraltar cajon pedal too and I love it. One thing you might want to know though is that when the snares are turned off completely and you start playing, they will vibrate making an eerie sound.

Not so great. Another cheap DW import The walnut one does NOT have the knob to disengage the snare sound as pictured.

The cajon plays just fine, for the price. A little fine tuning of the snares does the trick.. If you want a nice gloss finish then you have to expect to pay at least $160.. Cmon guys. Only complaint i have is i didnt get the cleaning cloth in my package.. Wah.. But i dont really care about that. So, whatever. Im satisfied with this cajon..
