Playability for the kids.

My kids assembled Head Splat themselves and each gave it a try. They haven't mastered it yet, but they are sure having fun and getting wet trying! I can't wait to take it to Field Day on the last day of school. Good clean fun for a hot summer!

It’s funny but hard for kids

This activity is listed for ages 5+ but my 8 year old could not do it. I would have listed this activity as 2 stars, but we modified it and managed to have fun with it. First, the helmet does not stay in place very well. It slips all over the place. The helmet did not fit my 4 year old at all (much too big) and was still very large on my average sized 8 year old. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the balloon did stay on the string (we had doubts). But when the balloon was filled to the recommended size, my son could not swing it hard enough to get the momentum to get it up on top of his head. We tried with a smaller balloon and he could not get it to work either. After several attempts, the water balloon swung back and popped in his face stinging his upper lip. We decided to detach the string (which it has a convenient place to easily do just that) and take turns trying to throw the water balloon into the helmet while the other was wearing/holding it in place. We had a lot of fun doing that! Modifying this activity allowed for more than just one child to enjoy it too.

Cheaply made. It only comes with one hat and it’s not even a fun game for the kids

I highly recommend this toy! It’s simple and great for outdoors in summer. My kids are preschool age and so it’s a little harder for them to get the balloon to land on the hat but they still love it and keep trying anyway. Clever toy making use of water balloons.
