Until I discovered David McManus Kenny Wright was my favorite writer of erotica
Until I discovered David McManus Kenny Wright was my favorite writer of erotica. It is extremely rare for me to read a book in one sitting, but I couldn’t put Reluctant Cuckold down. When I finished it I immediately downloaded Cuck Storm Horizon and read that in one sitting too.I’m a relatively new fan of erotica. It seems to me there are two distinct approaches for this genre for both writers and readers. One approach emphasizes sex. The story line generally seems superfluous to the sex and is there only to offer some general context and reason for the sex to occur. This approach often offers page after page of sex with liberal use of sexually explicit words. The other approach, and the one I prefer, puts the emphasis on the story. The sex is a part of the story. This approach requires significant character development and the ability to tell an interesting if not compelling story. David McManus has the skill to pull that off.The story line serves as foreplay for the characters eventual sexual encounters. The story creates sexual tension and heightens the sexual expectations for the anticipated sex that will involve the main characters. In these books McManus pulls this off perfectly.Events happen, Ashley, David’s wife, is rumored to have has sex in the bathroom with a co-worker, but McManus gives little information about the event. Instead he leaves obvious questions unanswered and proceeds with the story leaving the reader hanging. As the story develops McManus drops hints and offers up more unanswered questions. This builds tension and peaks the interest of the reader. What really happened in that bathroom? The reader will have to wait many chapters into the second book to find the answer and by that time the reader in on edge wondering if the questions will ever be answered. One of the main characters is David, Ashley’s husband. McManus begins by presenting him as a sympathetic character, the apparent betrayed innocent spouse who deeply loves his wife and is caught completely off guard by the rumors of his wife’s unfaithfulness. Events unfold and more information is supplied by McManus and David’s life is changed forever. The author artfully changes the perception of David from being an innocent betrayed spouse into a weak and pitifully sad shell of a man who becomes tortured by his weakness and tendency to be submissive. That makes him vulnerable to being dominated by stronger males. The author reveals that Ashley is also a submissive and easily manipulated by dominate personalities in her life. It becomes apparent that these two submissive spouses are defenseless pawns in the hands of dominate people that become part of their lives. .The author leads the reader down a path that includes hints of things to come and offers numerous unanswered questions that will eventually be dealt with. The author builds the tension and anticipation of actual sex taking place, but the sex does not materialize until many chapters later. He skillfully ends each book with unfulfilled questions and hints of things to come. I am anxiously waiting for the sequel to Cuck Storm Horizon and the continuing events in the lives of David, Ashley, Mike, and the author hints Joe will reappear in the story and implies he will fulfill his threat to seduce Ashley.Kenny Wrights book Watch Me has been my favorite but McManus has supplanted it with these two books. If cuckold erotica stories interest you then these two books are a must read unless you are only interested in sex and lots of it, in that case you will likely be disappointed.

Our of the mouths of Babes
Dissected, rejected, compartmentalized, and reassembled; the confidently worded intensions of an Alpha male, Mike, revealed to a husband his latent role as a cuckold. Of course he didn't like it despite the physical confirmation his bodily reactions made. It appeared that he loved it. What did he love. In a nut shell, he loved the peace and quiet of his inadequacies and insecurities taking a break from center stage. Cuck Dave, found his cheap seats far from the sensuous activities of his wife and pretend friend Mike. Alone the silent fear of abandonment drove him insane while a closer analysis and interpretation over interim beers with his wife's lover, cast a new shadow on Dave's new role as a cuckold. Both Dave's wife Ashley and her loving Bull Mike took what they wanted but needed the incentive to come from words out of the husband's mouth. Would he say: "I want to watch you coupling like lovers", to his wife or Mike?McManus is spot on with this concluding sequel to "the reluctant cuckold", yet I know this is not over. Perhaps because I was recently cuckolded myself and the 'quest for that fire' is unending. Both books were important to this self awareness journey into submissive, emasculated humiliation because on the other side. Honesty, truth, and trust are the beginning of true communication. It's so simple its hard to see. It's a marriage of listening to words too crippling to speak, while finding love right in front of you, because it never left. That humble truth is freedom.

Depends on your expectations
There are certain authors I read based on the quality of writing rather than the heat of erotic content. McManus is one. This story lacks some key components I need to really enjoy it. And yet... After the first novel I had to read the second. There are some fairly hot scenes in both books, particularly Ashley's "narrative" at the end of this one, but there's a lot of grinding mental tedium and torment in between. Dave Martens, put simply, is a pushover. Ashley is a self-centered witch. And Mike is a manipulative, greasy bastard. In spite of all this it just works. You can't put it down. While certainly arousing in some places, this novel succeeds mostly on the quality of McManus' writing and the "train wreck" quality of their lives: you can't look, and you can't look away.Looking forward to book 3.

Very Powerful…
And arousing, and somewhat disturbing too. I have been checking almost weekly for the last year and a half hoping to find a sequel to Reluctant Cuckold. This was worth the wait (although I hope that I don’t have to wait that long for the next book in the series). I read the book quickly the first time through because I was so anxious to get answers to questions that carried over from the first book (some were answered, some not yet). Then I read it again, much more slowly, in order to savor the details. Suffice it to say that I really, really enjoyed this book. For readers who enjoy erotic stories with a cuckold theme, this is as good as it gets in my opinion.

Has its ups and downd
I read this book because I read the first book. I downloaded the first one because of ratings. I didn't know what a cuckold was. This second book started off good but had a few things that were unbelievable. You can tell the story was written by a man.An innocent wife may slip up and do the deed unintentionally, but not over and over again, unless the marriage isn't a strong one. What this good does do well is let you see what goes on in the husbands mind. How he thinks the worst things will happen. Not that they always do, but in a way, he wants them to happen. If the story line was more believable, I would give it more stars. No husband in his right mind would invite a stranger into his house. In this day and age, that's dangerous.Good writing, but its fiction. Those in this lifestyle would love this book.
