Photographer's Guide to the Nikon Coolpix P1000: Getting the Most from Nikon's Superzoom Digital Camera Kindle Edition

Alexander White writes the best books. I bought his P900 manual to use with my P900, so after I got the new P1000 camera I checked every other day to see if his new book was available. It's loaded with illustrations and is well-indexed (more than six pages of index). In his books, the illustrations actually match what you see on the camera. It's not like other manuals that tell you to go to Screen 2, but don't explain how to get there. Or they say go to Screen 2 and click on Item 3 -- but when you find Screen 2, there is no Item 3. In White's books, the language is simple, clear and easy to understand. If you're going to spend $1,000 on a P1000 camera, you might as well spring for a few extra bucks to learn how to use it. I bought the PDF version for my laptop, and I also bought the print version. I prefer the print because I can sit at my kitchen table with the book and the camera, and page back and forth quickly between sections.

I found this book very helpful in familiarizing myself with this camera. I aM a true novice. This is the first "camera" I have ever purchased. The "very small" users manual that came with the camera and it's accessories had very small printing, and was written like most tech manuals. This book was wonderful from start to finish.Large easy to read print. A great breakdown of the controls and settings. Ideas and recommendation for taking photos and additional equipment to enhance the fun. An index that is thorough and complete. I am much further along in what I can do with my P1000 because I took the time to purchase the book while waiting for my camera to arrive. I highly recommend this book to everyone who may buy the camera. As a reference, it can't be beat.

A lot of great information but sometimes it gets rather technical. Am slowly picking up ways to better use this camera. Well written by someone who is obviously a genius on the use of this camera.

This is a good reference, easily carried and immediately available anywhere, including out in the field on a tablet or phone. It is more comprehensive and understandable than the owner's manual that came with the camera (and which is also available in digital format). The digital index makes it quick and easy to find what you need to know and go to the proper page instantly. It is a highly worthwhile accessory for any owner of a Nikon Coopix P1000.

Well written and organized in a fashion that is progressive from the basic operation to the finer points. Clarifying illustrations are abundant and well placed which has prevented me from getting "lost".

This book is very thorough on the subject of the P1000. It has helped me a lot. It seems like it could be better organized, but given the complexities of the camera, it probably couldn't be done any better.

Purchased this guide for use of my new Nikon Coolpix P1000. It has been very helpful.

This was a present for my husband and he is absolutely over the moon with it. No pun intended. There is a lot to learn about the settings but he's got plenty of time to learn with help of various people and books. Loves it such a special piece of equipment.
