Great purchase. Exceeded expectations.
I am impressed. I have played guitar for hobby most my life. Was looking for something the kids and I could all learn songs on. It’s full size so really I am the only one using it. Which is fine because now it’s precious to me. My precious. This was a great buy. Quick shipment, solid packaging. It’s a nice looking guitar and I love the color I picked. It’s light. Thin body. Perfect radius neck not unlike strat/Ibanez? Not heavy on the lacquer on the maple neck. Don’t need it. It’s perfectly smooth. One note on the images they have, the plastic film that’s on the pick guard peels off. Be mindful to take the knobs off carefully. I have now had this guitar a little over a month and it holds standard tuning just fine. I think this guitar is worth having a setup done. I may do some small adjustments myself, but out of the box I wasn’t expecting it to be this good. I have to admit probably sounds ridiculous because it’s not expected at this dollar level.I saw kits out there for another 100 smackeroonies, but for this price it seems a no brainerd. The pick is solid.Good job.The amp is tiny but awesome. It has all the normal bells and whistles of a basic solid state you see in packages of this type but this is not meant for really taking out your metal fury on all of your neighbors.A cheap headphone amp would cost 50 on its own. This takes up very little space so it just sort of works to have around somewhere.I would purchase either a locking system and modify this or at bare minimum a new strap. Works, but the holes are a little schloppy. You can try the bread tabs if you are desperate but you don’t want to trust the straps as is out of the box.The cable works just fine but the shielding is minimal so it picks up extra noise.

Strat Copy..worth it !
This seller gave me a great deal on this guitar. The pickups on it are SO nice...the neck?...eh..lol...it's not quite as thick as a baseball bat but I can take care of that with a little work. I think the frets have been crowned....the frets are VERY Nice which is almost unknown on a guitar at this price point.I'm very happy with my purchase. I'd buy from them again.

Great buy
For a started guitar this was a good buy. One of the strings broke during tuning and the bar for the string housing in the back was loose so I caused static in the amp. But over a good buy.

A Must Have For A Beginner!
I am absolutely in love with this guitar. A great starting point for people who are just starting out and is a fantastic bargain below $100! I have to stress though that this is a BEGINNER'S set, so if you are experienced then this isn't for you. Amps shouldn't matter for a beginner but it works just fine, it produces a clean sound, the guitar is playable, the tuning knobs are great, no broken strings, no scratches, no breaks. There is a dent in my guitar but asthetics aren't an issue for me. Everything that is shown in the picture came in. The only issue I have is the bag, so anyone buying this and is planning on carrying it around, I would recommend buying a case and not a bag. Either than that, I highly recommend it!

Will need work and parts immediately in order to play it. Maybe OK if you want to customize it.
I am writing this after having the guitar for 2 weeks with daily multi hour use. The short of it is, if you want a guitar kit that works right out of the box with no work needed, look elsewhere. If you know how to setup a guitar and don't mind buying some new parts for it or want to customize it then this may be an OK bargain for you. Here are the details:The good:The tone and pickups sound fine through the small amp, which has plenty of volume for practicing at home, especially with the Gain control engaged. The gig bag appears to be water proof (have not tested that) but has no padding. It does have two backpack style straps and one carry handle making it easy to carry. It is fairly light weight. The finish is good and it arrived with no dings or scratches. The neck is straight, had no fret sprout, has well rounded edges and has a natural finish making it smooth, comfortable and very playable. The tuner machines are geared well and are not loose. The guitar holds tune very well after the strings have been stretched and as long as you don't use the tremolo very deeply. The pick guard is 3-ply.Green poly capacitors are used on the tone pots (I expected to see ceramic capacitors on such an inexpensive guitar). The bad:My guitar needed to be setup (as most new ones do) but cannot be setup properly without replacing some parts, some of which broke the first day.The action is not set even due to two things - the nut grooves are way too deep causing fret buzz on the low E and A strings and the neck is canted up causing the strings to be very high at the body and very low at the nut. I shimmed the neck and it helped some but the nut is way too low and it is impossible to eliminate the fret buzz without replacing the nut. And yes, I did a full setup, neck shim, truss rod, action, intonation, etc. Also, two height adjustment screws on the saddles stripped out while adjusting the action and another one stripped out while just replacing the strings. The saddles are absolute junk and need to be replaced. I guessed at the proper height and super glued the stripped out screws in place so I can play the guitar until the replacement saddles I ordered arrive, along with a new nut.The volume pot produces lots of noise unless is it turned all the way up. It is not dirty, just cheap and needs replaced. I'll do that later if the other fixes make this thing playable. The supplied cable has an intermittent connection in it and is basically a throw away. You will need to buy yourself a decent cable. It was supposed to come with 2 picks and a pick holder, but only came with a single thick pick. The strap does not lengthen enough and slips off the strap posts very easily. I folded pieces of duct tape over the ends of the strap to cover the holes and screwed the posts through the tape at the hole and the strap stays on fine now. You will likely want a different strap and to get strap locks later on anyway.I replaced the strings with Ernie Ball Extra Slinky's and it made a HUGE positive difference in tone. Change the strings!!The tone controls come setup for the top one to control the neck pickup, bottom one controls the middle pickup and the bridge pickup is not tone controlled. I rewired it so that the top tone pot controls both the neck and middle and the bottom tone pot controls the bridge pickup. I am much happier with the tone choices I have now. However, I discovered that the tone bypass cap on the bottom pot was soldered to the center/output lug of the pot (should be connected to the right hand lug when look at the back with lugs toward you you). This caused the tone control to not function properly so I changed it. No big deal to do, but it should have been setup correctly from the factory.Just an advisory - the body is made of basswood, which is VERY soft. Basswood is commonly used on Strat style guitars as it is supposed to be a good tone wood with plenty of sustain. However, it will dent easily and if you remove the screws from the pick guard to work on it you are about guaranteed to strip some of them out. Be EXTREMELY careful when removing and replacing the pick guard screws. They should not be "tightened" AT ALL. Very gently and slowly screw them in by hand and stop when they just come to barely snug the guard to the body. It is probably a good idea to have some wood putty on hand and be ready to fill some holes and retap the screws in carefully if you are going to remove the pick guard for any reason.Anyway, I am pretty handy, have a background in electronics and working with my hands for many years. Working on the guitar was part of my plan to begin with and I enjoy that part of it. So, I am not completely out of luck on the deal and I can live with what it is for the price. The body and neck are good quality and even after replacing the parts needed I will likely spend less than $200 on the whole kit. Not bad to customize it to my liking and have what I hope to be a nice playing and sounding budget instrument.OK, so my thoughts on all of this. I did not return the guitar for a replacement for two reasons. First, I live overseas and the shipping to get it back to the seller would cost much more than the parts I need to fix it. It took a month to get it to begin with and so it would likely take 2 or more months to get this one replaced or get a refund and order something different. I had planned to make this a project guitar and replace the tremolo system, tuning machines, hardware, nut etc. with gold parts and replace one pickup with a hot rail at some point anyway. So no big deal about the cost of having to replace parts. But the saddles broke on day one and it can't be setup properly without replacing the nut, and that is disappointing and would be frustrating for most folks. For anyone else who is a beginner and just wants a playable beginner's guitar on arrival (shouldn't be too much to ask, right?) you may not be happy with your purchase. Maybe I just got a lemon, judging from some of the other reviews. Perhaps I should not have ordered the yellow one, eh? :)I understand that most folks looking at this item just want a playable instrument for a beginner. The one I received would not meet that need, so I am rating it 1 star because the flippin saddles should not strip out from just breathing on them and the nut needs replacement out of the box.
