Seems like a decent filter
I don't claim to understand all the technical air filter stuff, or any house/mechanical stuff, but this is my second air filter purchase. I have mild indoor allergies and live in the Midwest. I feel like these are better than the ones I used before, at least in the winter - the last ones left me with stuffy nose non stop all winter and my house was super dusty. These seem to do a better job and were slightly less expensive. No stuffy nose (and I'm home more) and less dust. Or there could be zero correlation, who knows?

Keeps heat pump handler and vents dust free.
same fit and quality each year I order. I like the switch to zero-plastic packaging. We switched from manual wall venting and wall air / furnace. March 2020, we switched to a similar capacity heat pump with handler to ceiling vents. These filters have kept the system very clean.

Great filters before they raised the price 250%
AIRx was a great brand that sold quality filters for a good price. A great alternative to the established brands that you know are overcharging. Unfortunately that seems to have changed. I imagine they got successful and decided they could join in on gouging people.Bought these filters for years when they were $35 for a box of 6. I understand things get more expensive over time, and I'd pay $50-$60 for a box now, but jumping to $90 for 6 in a couple of years is ludicrous and these filters just aren't worth it.

Comparison to 3M Filtrete 1500 MERV 12 Filter
To be fair, I am not a filter expert or molecular engineer. And, the 3M 1500-rated Filtrete filter I am comparing the AirX filter to is so old, it doesn't have a MERV rating on it. However, I have done my research, and this Filtrete filter would now be classified as MERV 12, whereas the AirX brand is supposed to be MERV 13.I do not know if there have been any changes to the type of fabric used to filter out contaminants, but you can plainly see on the Filtrete filter, the folds are much closer together. This means there is much more area filtering out contaminants, and should mean the filter would last longer. Filtrete states 3 months. Unless I have forgotten something, AirX does not state any specific time frame their filters will last. Perhaps these AirX filters are supposed to be 1-month MERV 13 filters? Also, the Filtrete filter has the metal mesh on both the back and front to allow for a sturdier product. On the AirX filter, the metal mesh is just on one side. At 4x and 5x the price, 3M had better have some "perks."I am not sure I am going to get three months use out of these filters, but they fit well, and are definitely better than those cheap green MERV 0 filters. I can't afford expensive filters, so I am going to count my blessings and give these four stars. Not a bad price at all for 6 filters with free shipping, even if they aren't MERV 13 and/or need to be changed before three months.

really helps with pollens, dander, desert dust
This is my 4th carton of 6 filters at this MERV 13. A reasonable price - very - and worth the price for allergy, cleanliness and better indoor air. I can literally tell when it is time to change the filter just by the air coming from heat pump cooling begins to make me sneeze. The unit fits perfectly in the register, never gets bent, and certainly is filthy after only 1-2 months - they work.

works great
One of the best filters for the price. We use these year round, they clean up the air quite a bit. If only we would vacuum our vents now!We have fire season with bad smoke and this begins to filter out most of it. During the worst parts when the sky looks funny from the smoke, we do switch to the very expensive Filtretes MPR2800 which removes the orders all but completely.

Will never get any other filters again
I wish I knew how much money I have wasted buying 3M filters at Home Depot over the years. These filters are just as good if not better than the 3M ones at literally less than half the cost. The box they come in, is the box you are meant to store them in. It had a stamp on the side to write the date you last changed the filter. I put the dirty ones back in the box and when I have gone though all 6, I just throw the box out with the trash. I started using the health filters because my roommate has bad Asthma and allergy's. Back when I switched to these filters she did start to notice a difference, less sneezing and coughing. Stop buying the way overpriced filters at the grocery store, Lowe's, and Home Depot and start getting these, you will not regret it and your wallet will thank you.
