I Had a Sony RX100 II, So I Thought I Knew How to Use My Sony RX100 VII ...
That assumption was completely false. I admit that even with my old RX100, I used the Automatic setting almost exclusively. Having replaced that camera with a Sony RX10 IV and the newer RX100 VII, I felt it was time to learn to use other settings and functions. Because the RX10 was more complicated, I purchased Alexander S. White's book for that camera. For this neophyte, it was as if the light shone and I began to understand the camera could be more than a point-and-shoot.Having made that discovery and, upon discovering the menu system for the new RX100 was more extensive than the former menus, I purchased "Photographer's Guide to the Sony DSC-RX100 VII: Getting the Most from Sony's Advanced Compact Camera". The book has chapters on every aspect of the camera, beginning with photos and information on its various parts. Each setting and function is explained in separate sections of the book. One of this book's most useful features is that White specifically tells the reader the menu choice and the page within that choice where a setting can be changed or entered. Because Sony's menu system is so detailed, this saves frustration and time on the part of individuals who are new to Sony cameras or who are upgrading from a much older model of the same camera.White's book discloses many functions and options that I had previously been unaware existed. He explains things so clearly that even we, who are rank amateurs, can understand how to set and use the camera more fully. This book is one every RX100 VII's owner should purchase. It has helped me get more out of my camera and to take better photos. If you have a Sony camera, I highly recommend Alexander S. White's books on the various Sony models. Each is clearly written, very understandable, and worth every penny of its price.

Clear, logicaly sturctured.
Just bought my camera. The 634 page user manual is pretty overwhelming and more important is lax on saying "if you are a normal human being just ignore this bit" (e.g. 'white balance'). The author does this (though much more discretely than I just did) - and explains is very clearly, with pictures, for those who aspire to be the next Ansel Adams. I wavered between print and kindle version and went with Kindle; the index is very well done and completely hyperlinked so my normal issues with Kindle book indexing - it's lousy - does NOT apply here :) I have found some good youtube videos but this is much more amenable my ("OK Boomer" / OCPD ) personality type.

great book though outdated for accessories
Excellent guide to features and menus of the Sony DSC-RX100 vii. It is, though, a bit outdated for some accessories. Great on Kindle to have at the ready as you’re out shooting.

Great detailed book
Great book. Lots of good details and tips. Highly recommendNot sure why Sony couldn’t include a manual with the Sony RX100 VII. They recommend downloading the manual. I started, then found out it’s over 600 pages! Went on Amazon and found this book and it is well worth the money!!!Gives you everything you need to know nd,the. Some

Couldn't Use the Camera Without It
This is a necessary purchase if you get RX100M7. The camera to be used at its fullest capability has to be programmed and understood. This book is the key, but read it. Don't skip through it as I did as a former Nikon user. The camera control is entirely different.,

Good infromation
GREAT INFORMATION ........HORRIBLE PRESENTATION!!!I have never seen so many hop around commands crammed into a run on dense paragraph, one after another. The quality of the information good, really good, the information presentation is sloppy at best.Overall buy the book it is worth it for the content just expect so see a really bad format. The author never put himself in the position of the reader, so he just did an info dump. The sequencing and content of the information steps is fine the format structure of the presentation of the steps not so good.
