Q: The description says "Please note the slight rattle sound from device is normal..." Is this noticeable?

Since fitting the computer on my Trek Bike and recording over 2000 miles, I have not noticed any noise what so ever.

the piece that goes on the front fork and the piece that goes on the spokes have to be as close together as possible when the wheel rotates.. The part that goes on the handlebars has to be as far away from the electric switch that you use to turn on the bikes power as possible. I had the same problem that you are having until I set it all up in this way
