Would I have any trouble taking this on an airplane?

You shouldn't have any problem. It can clearly be seen that it's a pen. The rifle is on the top part so you can clip it to your shirt pocket and then the bottom portion of the pen is in a bullet looking form, but not one that looks like a real bullet.

When you say "standard" there really isn't such a thing. Can you provide a few specific refills that will fit this pen - prefer a rollerball refill?

We should have written that the pen takes a standard Parker type refill. Don't know if there is a rollerball or Pentel refill that will fit. The listing shows the refill type in one of the pictures. We'll have to try a few roller ball types and see if one fits and then update the listing.

Is the pen 7” or the packaging 7”?

The pen is 5 1/2 inches long, rather thick, and heavy, a man sized pen. I bought it for my grandson, who just completed Army basic training, and rated high in his shooting abilities. It is well made, with a lot of detail. I love it, and I believe he will too.

Can these be engraved
