After more than 20 yr's my original cap had rotted, and absolutely ruined the look of the entrance to my driveway and home. I searched multiple sites looking for this particular cap b/c I needed an exact duplicate in order not to violate the covenants of my subdivision. This cap fit the bill, and fit over my post perfectly. After painting it and repainting my mailbox post, the whole thing looks beautiful! You can't beat Amazon's price or the speed w/which it arrives.

Simple style that I will stain to match deck railings. Replaced lighted post caps ruined by falling walnuts. These withstand the impact of falling walnuts better.

Solid wood, good bang for buck , same quality as the ones in the store

I can see why people really like this. It’s very nice looking but mine arrived with a hairline crack on it. I’m going to paint it and see if I can cover it up, but I wish the manufacturer would have sent one without a crack. Hence only 4 stars on an item I would have given 5 stars.

They looked good and were easy enough to install with small slim nails (brads). One of the four had a few scratches on the top, but looked Ok after staining (which I did before installing). Just hope they hold off the termites and last longer than the previous pine wood caps.

Bought 17 of these . Primed with oil based primer and painted , 8 of them warped in 3 weeks . Going to have to get plastic ones , which is not what i wanted to do

We'll see how it lasts long term but all the joints were tight when it arrived. I painted mine inside and out and only set it on the post, I disagree with gluing cross grain wood on this to the end grain of a treated 4x4, something will give and it will be this cap that will crack. If you need to secure it, tap a nail into the end of the 4x4, then nip off all but 1/4 " or so and press this cap onto the cut off nail.

This cap fits best on a 4 x 4” post, it is loose on a normal 3.5” x 3.5” post.

I love these post caps - very classy and nicely made except for a small crack in the top of one of them, but I just bogged it up and it's fine.

I have bought 10 of these.Painted with an oil based primer 3 coats inside and out as instructions3 days later 4 out of 10 was bent at the cap.I have uploaded 2 photos; these are the posts next to each other.One is ok the other is not.My project is ruined.
