Q: Does this product fit by replacing a standard dead-bolt lock, or do I need to make any modifications to my door for it to fit?

This product fits perfectly in an existing, round dead-bolt lock hole on any door. You do not need to make any modifications to the hole, although you might need to adjust the strike plate slightly, depending on the size of the existing one. I bought three of these locks, and I had to adjust the strike plate recess slightly on one door frame, but had no problem with the other two door frames.

Q: Hi I purchased and installed the product however I thought it automatically locks the door after two minutes?

It should have an off/on slide button on the inside back cover next to your coed setting that allows you to turn it on so when you close the door it would automatically lock it! Just take off inside cover plate
